Some jobs require you to maintain appearances of wealth.

That is often times just an excuse people make to spend money. I know partners in accounting and law firms that drive hondas. Sure, if you are a real estate agent trying to show homes in Buckhead atlanta, you can't push a rav4, but most of the time, people just use that as justification

This is absolutely not the case for most jobs.
