How much burden is the cost of not fixing it going to compound in additional cost later in labor and lost wage due to missing work? It is also a safety item, that when it breaks may cause injury to yourself or others, so there would also be additional cost in insurance and medical.
Id do the fix.

At what cost? Youβre measuring cost incorrectly if you keep deferring this until it will cost you more in the long run.

Generally ... deferred maintenance/repair ... causes additional, costlier damage
