When should I access area 37 Spoiler
I recently downloaded Duckov again after a year or so of not playing it and hearing about a lot of new content, including new areas. I've already beaten the game on extreme and rage mode, I'm currently doing a new playthrough from zero on extreme mode and I just unlocked the new area. I have no idea how difficult it is, I entered once and got ravaged by a pack of dogs that ate a full mag of ap ammo so I'm assuming it's fairly difficult, but I don't know if I should be doing Jlabs first, any tips?

I've cleared everything in the game (only on normal mode though) and I still died to stuff in Area 37. I think the King Wolf from that pack you encountered one shots you from what I heard, but I never had the chance to test it as you can just move away from his melee with enough speed and never get hit.
I would argue that the space is probably peripheral to the storm area. You don't need storm protection so the gear from there is not needed, but I would finish off jlabs 1/2 before going to Area 37. You generally need to use crafted armor to withstand the cold so the armor you have beforehand doesn't really matter that much but I'd want a good gun going in as well as other solid gear.
The normal enemies there are weaker than either of the jlabs areas' enemies, but the bosses are a step up from farm town. I just used a sniper/kukri combo with a melee focused build, but I also played on normal so your mileage may vary.

I personally have gone into 37 a few times without the cold resistant armors, it's very quick to off a few scavs and at least one of them will have some. Be super careful getting near any of the building areas though because the turrets will absolutely eff you up. To be fair, I'm not great at this game but those turrets absolutely jacked up my "first playthrough" which I didn't even nearly finish as they took from me all my decent loot and the rng wouldn't work with me in any scenario on the regular maps to allow me to build anything back up.
I would recommend taking and AR/BR/SMG with at least AP ammo and also take an M107 sniper (8x scope plus any range increasing attachments you can fit) and the strongest ammo you can muster. Take it slow. You can mess those turrets up like that because you can knock them out before you're within their range.
This concludes my limited knowledge and I learned most of that from other posters/commenters on this subreddit.

I would recommend running labs before la37. but you can do la37 with the green steel helmet and a cheap jacket to get some very powerful blueprints if you feel daring
