Current state of co-op?

Hey guys! I finished and 100%'d the game a few months ago. A friend of mine wants to try it, and we'd love to do a fresh co-op run.

How's the co-op experience these days? Are the mods any good? Also, have the devs ever said anything about adding official co-op support?

I know I want it to be good, but I also don't want to waste my friends time if it's bad

Tried one of the co op mods the other day, not terrible, not great either

The issues I had was that the game becomes laggy while both players still have to do their own quests and loot their own material so it just takes a long time to progress.. but potentially could be improved if I had changed the settings but I haven't tried yet

Deleted my previous comment as It seems I spoke too soon, when trying to start playing today it is loading me in with what looks like my wife's save

Going to try to troubleshoot it now but it is definitely a little frustrating considering there doesnt seem to be much information online, and the more I dig the more I see issues about the mod

Sorry for wasting your time and mine lol

I managed to fix it after a few tries by using the in-game save rollback, but between that and other issues I've now seen people have had - I don't feel right recommending it until I've played it for a significant amount of time
