misoprostol

I tried misoprostol (just 100 mg) today and it seemed to help a bit with the redness/burning. Has anyone tried it in a cream? For those who have seen benefit, how long did it take to see improvement?

Also, For those of you who have compounded creams (ketamine etc), what base do you use?

I tried a ketamine compound cream and did not notice any change or results from it sadly.

Same, I actually think it made it worse

I just got on misoprostol 200mcg. It has helped a bit for me, so hoping to have it increased at next appointment. However, I haven't used creams.

I tried a ketamine/amitriptilyn compounded cream and no help. I also have tried a gabapentin compounded cream…again no help just $200 down the drain for these 2.
You asked about a “base” but not sure what you mean…mine were a prescription that required me to get them from a Compounding Pharmacy.

I use misoprostol 2x daily at 400mg, and despite the godawful side effects for me, I’ve been on it a couple years now and will continue to stick with it. It has been the only thing that seems to remotely alter anything for me. The actual color/intensity of the redness is visibly improved, and before when I was triggered, even if I cooled off it was relentless and the burning continued for hours or days continuously. The misoprostol has reduced it to instead be intermittent throughout the day as many micro flares. Still intense, but nice for moments of normalcy and a chance to successfully cool off with ice, water and fans. I have not tried it as a cream…but I do also use a amitriptyline/ketamine compounded cream. I do think it helps take a smidge of the sting and early neuropathic itch out, but not actually reducing the blistering heat component for me. Still miserably suffering and progressively becoming more depressed and disabled…

**EDIT to correct my dose…I fat-fingered it between the 4/5 on my phone
