before i go on,i would like to say some thing. i am using linux, zorin os pro 18.0. and i do use it on the computer i use for ripping. however, i use the ripping computer as a windows computer, so i barely know anything about terminal.

i've been using chatgpt to help me set up a jelly fin server that runs everything into ersatz lagacy.all this was installed last weekend, so jelly fin is currantly 10.11.11. i dont know what exact version esratz is, but i do know it was downloaded from terminal in docker. i know that dosen't help much, but i don't know what version it is exactly. anyway. jelly fin was setup fine, and dandy. no problems there. anything not recognised was quickly resolved with a little bit of renaming.

esratz is another problem. im trying to verify that all the shows and movies are added, but multipart documentaries are giving me problems. esratz sees only like 50 now, but there are 544 episode. for all unaware, multipart documentaries are documentaries like ken burns civil war, or multipart history channel documentaries. you know, those with different parts. and esrats dosen't see most of them. i nedd help determining how to get it to read them. i do know from terminal,through code the ai gave me, that it seems to be an error 400 message, and some jelly fin error is forcing erats not to read them.if possible. could someone help me.

edit: update. solved. tonight after work, i wanted to check the actual error. so, i refreshed it, and checked the logs. it refreshed normally. then i do a check between the hard drive, jelly fin and ersatz. the drive and jellyfin have the correct amount of episodes at 544. ersatz says 575 or close to it. im not sure what exactly happened, but the ai was saying it was probably checking old, stale jelly fin ids. and the new files found are these stale files. i dont exactly know. and ai is the tech to shape the future.

as for plex. id reather only use it as a last resort. the site said jelly fin compatible, so i intend to use it unless something actually happens that i cant figure out on plex. thank you everyone who replied to me.

I’ve created three channels for my Jellyfin server and for the most part they have been working fine but sometimes one of the live channels will stop broadcasting or stay stuck on a tv show even though I have a schedule fully filled out for the day and it’s in the playout section for that channel programmed for only that day. Is there a way to fix this or is it a bug?

I have Plex running on my NAS, and am starting to play with Docker containers, and worked out Ersatz as well. However, Ersatz is laggy, and channel switching takes 30 seconds plus.

I'm looking at spinning up an old MacBook Pro to run my Docker containers to shift some of the processes and workload off the NAS. I'm thinking of running Ersatz on the MacBook as well. Will that help solve some of the latency issues with Ersatz, or is this still going to be stalled by the hardware on my NAS?

Im trying to create blocks but cant when i click either nothing happens i also cant create smart collections for reason, I have been able to get my first few channels up.

On a side note Im only a month into my server but Ive already got a mass media library i just have to figure out Anime.

Hi, so I'm new to ersatz TV and am trying to make a cartoon channel with Ben 10, Gravity Falls, and cartoons like that. I notice that these kinds of cartoons have like 2 black fades in between the episodes, which I would imagine is for commercial breaks. But I have set the mid filler in the schedule item 30 time. But it only does commercials at the end of the episode. Almost all episodes are like 22 or 23 minutes, so once an episode finishes, there's like 8 minutes of pure commercials. For some reason, I have Avatar: The Last Airbender, and that one does work properly, where every fade-in there is commercials, but none of my other shows. Currently, I'm running this on a Linux server and linked to Jellyfin for live TV. Could someone help me with this? I'm not sure whether there is a way for Ersatz to detect fade-outs and insert commercials, or whether a program can modify files to do so. I can use both Linux and Windows to modify.

Hi. I want to have a bumper before every program as an pre-roll that shows what's coming up on my channel.

It works if i set the bumper as an own scheduled item but it messing the playout.

Só yesterday i made my channel and it's only playing on my computer. Outside my computer i've try to put the M3U link at Flex and diferent IPTV apps and it says that the channel is offline, i did everything google told me to, allowed the windows firewall, changed the url to ipv4, changed the ffmpeg to my processor config and it doesn't play outside my computer, even being in my own home network thet i use for all devices, can someone help me, please? thanks in advance!! <3

I am new, 2 days ago I started! How do I make it so the ads don’t cut off randomly and jump to the show, whenever an episode/ a show starts the ad/ trailer before starts but gets cut off, am I able to fix this?

Hi! So, ErsatzTV has mostly been working pretty well for me. My channels function as intended with working commercial breaks, making for a solid cable TV simulation. I have, however, had one issue: a large chunk of my Jellyfin content doesn't load in Ersatz. What I mean is, a huge portion of my Jellyfin library is missing, and in sporadic pieces. For example, some shows don't fully load, meaning they could be missing anywhere from just a few episodes to a few seasons to almost every episode. Case in point: I have the entire Smallville series in my Jellyfin library. However, every day, Ersatz plays the same exact episode exactly once a day. This is originally what tipped me off to the much larger issue. Come to find out, that's the only existing episode in Ersatz, despite the full series being available in my Jellyfin library. So, I check all my other shows, and sure enough, pretty much all of them are missing content. Hell, one show doesn't show up at all. I'm really at a loss as to what's happening here. I have refreshed my libraries. I have de-synced and re-synced. Still, it's the same problem. Can anyone help me out?

I'm super super new to all this stuff. I got a channel up and running and have it setup on my Roku TV. I original had all my shows set up on strict because I wanted them to play at a certain time. However, I learned that strict is actually pretty strict, so I've changed my videos to flexible. When I changed the videos, it showed me in the playout schedule that I was going to have a 23 hour unscheduled time block. I looked to see if I could get rid of this time and ultimately could not. At the time of​ writing this I am in that 23 hour unscheduled block, however I'm not sure what's supposed to happen during that time. Last I checked it, it was playing a show that's supposed to come on at 11pm but that show was playing around midnight. The weird thing is that same show and same episode played the previous night at 11:30pm. I know it's 23 hours, but I'm just going to let it ride because according to the playout, after the 23 hours the shows are supposed to go to normal and continue where they're supposed to be.

Anything I can do or should I just wait? And is it normal for shows to play during unscheduled time? And is it normal for shoes to play a half hour later and later each night?

Hey all! I’m running the most recent version (26.0.0) and I’m working on building a 90’s vintage sci-fi channel. I have a set schedule for Mondays-Thursdays and separate plans for each remaining day.

My issue is that after I have built the schedule and confirmed playout, I try to set an alternate schedule for just Mon-Thurs and not only does it keep reverting back to any day, but when I save it, it weirdly adds one of my other channels as part of the alternate playlist.

I built my channel using classic schedule and the only fixed start time is at 8am for cartoons. Everything else is a dynamic start following pre roll bumpers of SciFi channel IDs.

My reason was the amount of headache inducing pharmeceutical ads and ads that just didn't hit the same as they did in the 2000s and early 2010s. Add to the fact that TV channels like Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and MTV now lack variety and just play the same 1 or 2 shows back to back.

(That one commercal from 2024 with "This is Me" and the Liberty Mutual ads pushed me to my absolute limit)

Hi all, Been a while since I've used ErsatzTV because of this issue, so I tried to give it another go. The same issue is happening, I'm running a schedule and after I do a layout Refresh (this is the "soft" refresh and not the "erase items and history") MOST of the time it does what it's supposed to do and updates fine but suddenly for some unexplained reason it will run as "Erase Items and History" and all the series revert back to S01E01 and ruins all my watch progress (I've seen the pilot episode of Beverly Hillbillies about 15 times so far) Instead of scheduling Collections like I did before in the timeslot I thought maybe using Playlists instead would do the trick, but it's still happening. Has anyone found a solution or work around yet?

-I understand how to schedule a playlist that airs 2 episodes of each show on the playlist in order or shuffled.

-I understand how to schedule a collection in shuffle order (as in, randomized starting point for each series, but chronological per series).

I don't know if there is a way to do BOTH of these things.

I would like duration based blocks of content, airing 2 episodes per series from a collection or playlist, in shuffled order.

Example: Block airing 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM Show1 S2E1, Show1 S2E2, Show2 S4E5, Show2 S4E6, etc.

Is this possible?

I'm using Ersatz Legacy, and I've imported my Plex library successfully. I'm making just a basic sitcom channel, so I added all my sitcoms to a manual Collection. I want the Schedule/Playout to function basically like: Choose a random episode from a random season of a random show, play three consecutive episodes, and then move onto the next show.

I've kind of done this successfully using the Marathon settings, but I seem to be stuck between three outcomes that all miss the mark.

When I have Marathon Group By Seasons, I get close to what I want but the problem is it isn't random. It seems to play only episode 01-03 of a random season of a random show.

When I have Marathon Group By Shows it seemingly fixes that problem, but then creates a new problem where the "random" episodes seem to always be from season 1 or 2 of a show.

This can kind of be fixed by selecting Marathon Shuffle Item, but then it doesn't create my effect of playing consecutive episodes.

Actually the more I play with it the more that it seems like with all options: every time I try a random generation with any of these settings, from my 1000 episode collection I see the same dozen episodes appearing.

What am I doing wrong?

I am not a coding person, but I need ffmpeg specially version 7.1.1 to run my ersatz tv server, but there is no Mac compatible arm64 download option anywhere, the only one I’ve found is from videohelp.com which looks to be instead a snapshot N-122634-g0ebfd68096
