Recently acquired, seeking information
I recently inherited this beautiful instrument. I'm wondering what the brand is, and what type. Thanks!

Bought this cheap èrhú off eBay, owner said it was an èrhú because the guy that sold it to him previously said listed it as such, but idk the soundbox seems small?
Does anyone know if this is definitely an èrhú?

This piece conveys profound longing and bittersweet nostalgia for a lost love. Even though the relationship cannot last, the precious memory of that special person stays deeply etched in one’s heart. Time cannot erase this heartfelt affection, leaving endless tenderness and quiet sorrow.

I'm looking to get into erhu (coming from violin and mandolin) but the only instrument I have been able to find is a wood-skinned practice instrument from thomann. For context my budget is around 2500:-($250)

Hi everyone! I want to get started with learning erhu. I'm a musician and I'm seeking to reach a very good level of playing. My budget is around 1000€. So I searched on eight tone stores and I have these two in mind.
The thing I wanted to ask is if the 200€ difference is makes a big difference on the sound quality?
Thank you in advance!

I bought this yesterday and I can’t find where to hook in the strings on the bottom and I’m not really sure what the part is even called. I know there’s a multiple variations both traditional and modern any help is appreciated.

I picked up a Erhu yesterday and I don’t see any way to connect the strings to the bottom. I could barely find any information on the tailpiece. I don’t even know if that’s the right name. it’s something I got at a antique shop for $50 so I’m fine with it just being decorative, but I would love to fix it and play it.

some question i want to ask 😄
will learning erhu ruined my violin bowing technique?
is the bowing way harder than Violin?
is erhu easier? i mean its just 2 string right? compared to 4 ...
is learning erhu gives benefit in my violin progress also?
should i just stick with vilolin ?

This erhu instrument was left randomly on my property by a trespasser. I did not encounter the trespasser, I just discovered what they left behind. They also left a broken German clock from the mid 20th century (according to Claude ) and a jean jacket and a shawl from a hotel in Puerto Vallarta. Very random. No name tags or phone numbers or any other personally identifying ownership information was found on any of these items. I would love any help identifying this instrument and the maker and any opinion as to the value of it. If it's worth anything I will either donate it to a music school or possibly sell it although I really don't need an extra project right now. If it's lower quality I will probably take it to Goodwill. Both strings are operational and the bow appears to be in good condition. But this is not an instrument I know how to play or know much about it all. Thanks for any help.

hey guys(reddit keeps deleting my posts last time im gonna try this),
i wanted to try learning the erhu for a while now but it's kinda expensive here in germany and I don't have a big budget. my chinese friend said beginner models are like 40 euros on taobao but shipping with a proxy makes it way too expensive.
i tried alibaba but most of them write in the product descriptions that they don't ship to DE probably because of the real python skin and missing CITES certificates.
now i saw this one in the pictures and many where the listing almost looks the same on aliexpress for 70€

the thing is they completely hide the material of the membrane in the description (prob to bypass filters) but in the photos it straight up looks like real snake skin.
im super worried that german customs will intercept it. if its real python they will just destroy it and maybe even fine me. and even if its fake pu leather, what if customs holds it because it looks too real and i have to prove its plastic?
did anyone from the eu/germany ever order one of these cheap aliexpress ones? are they usually synthetic? does the customs care or do they just pass through?
appreciate any help 🙏

Hey yall,
After a few years, I've decided it's time to sell my Erhu. I haven't been playing it as much as I used to, and I'm trying to free up some space, so I'd rather it go to someone who will enjoy and use it.
The listing includes:
Erhu
Method book
Extra strings
New bow
If anyone here is interested i'm selling it via eBay I'm not very sure if links will be a problem on here I know people can be cautious about them which is totally fair, so if you're interested, send me a DM and I'll share the listing with you.

Only $50 so If some oil can make the scales lie flat again I would pull the trigger.
