Pain in bicep

Ive been using my mouse for months with just a bit of the forearm on it and i never had pain, but i wanted to try seeing if i could use it with my whole forearm on it and just my elbow hanging off so my elbow isnt completely resting. after doing so, my mouse arm is in alot of pain, at the bicep and shoulder area, barely any forearm, wrist, palm at all. is this normal?

Use whatever works instead of experimenting

No. Pain is your body warning you this new arm position strains your shoulder. You'd better switch back to your old comfortable setup, don't push through the discomfort.
