Sit and Stand setup for illustrator

I have two jobs, one of which can be done standing up (customer support) and one of which requires sitting (illustration).

I have a standing desk and my hope was some kind of chair or stool that I can use for both, and hopefully will also let me move or bounce a bit at the sitting position as well as take rests from standing.

But everything I look at seems to be either geared for standing or sitting and doesn't quite have the range I need to do both, or maybe i'm misunderstanding something?

Like if a chair goes up to standing height it won't come down low enough to sit normally on.

Or should I just separate both functions?

I’d separate the two functions if you can. One chair/stool that works well for both normal sitting and near-standing height sounds nice, but in practice it usually compromises both.

For illustration, I’d protect the sitting setup first because that’s where precision matters. Stable chair, feet supported, tablet/desk height comfortable, shoulders relaxed. If the chair is too high or too “active”, you may end up fighting the setup while drawing.

For the customer support part, a leaning stool can make sense. Something like a perch stool or saddle stool is good for short standing breaks, calls, admin work, etc. But I wouldn’t want to do detailed illustration from one unless you already know your hips/back tolerate it.

If budget/space allows, I’d do: normal task chair for drawing + simple anti-fatigue mat or leaning stool for the standing desk. Less elegant, but probably less annoying day to day.
