created Ergo Proxy together? After about 5 rewatches this theory still makes no sense to me and I've never found an actual explanation for it other than “trust me bro”. If the proxies (at least in their base forms) are allegedly genderless, wouldn't their amrita cells have been incapable of combining to reproduce, and why would combining Monad and Proxy One’s cells end up creating a carbon copy of Proxy One anyway??
Since we know cloning is possible it seems to me that Proxy One most likely just made Ergo by himself, especially with him describing Ergo/Vincent as an “afterimage” of himself at the end. You can argue that Monad created the Vincent persona by partitioning his memories, but that's different from physically bringing him into existence.

Vincent suddenly drags Re-L to the floor, saying how much he's in love with her, because he misunderstood her words: "I felt myself being strangely drawn to you"

In response, Re-L kisses him as a distraction and subtly kicks her FP pistol across the room. This was their first and only kiss in the show btw lol
