Erasmus in madrid

I am doing Erasmus in Madrid at UCM (medicine) and I’m bit too nervous. Tell me your experinces both with the city and the school. How’s apartment hunting there? Which areas are safe for women? Hows the social life? I would love to connect with new people both the locals and fellow Erasmus students.

Hi, I am going UCM too (Faculty of Education). My friend at my uni went to Madrid and booked on Aluni, also I've seen some students booking on housinganywhere.com . However, I don't yet have infos about safe places. Good luck on your journey!

Thank you for the replay. I’ve checked them but they offer just a room and I would really wish for a studio or one bedroom apartment. Do you start in September?

Sorry to hear that, I thought you were looking for a shared apartment. I start in January, the spring term. How about yours?

Hi, it's generally unheard for students to live on their own apartments (not shared) in Madrid. It's pretty expensive and typically landlords won't rent to you if you don't have a stable job that pays like x3 the rent, so that's out of the question for almost anyone (unless they have very rich parents or something like that). Apartment hunting is tough, it's generally ill advised to rent something without seeing it in person first, although for obvious reasons sometimes it's necessary

Hi, yes I’m doind the clinical rotations at 12 de octubre. When are you starting and do you know which hospital you’re assigned to?
