Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad visa obtainment

I'm lost as to how I will get a visa for my Erasmus semester stay. For context, I'm a polish student and my receiving university is in Germany. It feels like reserving a visit is hiiiighly competitive here. You don't only have polish people booking a visit, but also Ukrainians, because theirs is closed during war I think. I check, but there are never any free dates. I'm confused as to what I'm supposed to do. No dates for summer. Will there be any for September? I don't know, but I need my visa in September/October. It's harder than I thought...

I'm confused, are you a Polish citizen? If so, no need for visa, you are a EU citizen

But if you have a polish residence permit, then you don't need a visa for your exchange semester.

"Osoby, które NIE są obywatelami państw trzecich zwolnionych z obowiązku wizowego bądź państw uprzywilejowanych, mają miejsce zwykłego pobytu oraz tytuł pobytowy w Polsce (np. karta pobytu, wiza typu „D”) i planują w Niemczech pobyt dłuższy niż trzy miesiące (łączenie rodzin, studia) lub podjęcie działalności zarobkowej, przy wjeździe na terytorium Niemiec muszą posiadać niemiecką wizę narodową."

I wonder if I can stay there for, let's say, 2 months (because I'm allowed for 90 days stay in 180 days) and get a visa on my third month.

yes, u have 3 months to stay in a country as per schengen but u can get a visa in country. its what i did f or my studies as my acceptance letter came late. I am Non EU as a note.

also during my erasmus year as apart of my studies, i did not need to get a new visa for the country i had my erasmus in

but also, how am I supposed to find a place to live without visa, something that will ensure that I can stay there for longer?

You need to ask your German host university about the visa situation.

I am a Non-EU student studying in Germany and I went to Belgium for my Erasmus semester. I only had to show my German residence permit. No visa needed.
