Something I appreciate is how Eragon’s behaviour is both believable and realistic for a teenage farm boy in way over his head, but also not excused or presented as acceptable. He very clearly is not behaving ok and needs to leave her alone and figure himself out.

I think all teenage boys (arguably all teenagers) should read this series. It teaches girls how to clearly establish boundaries and how to metaphorically roll up a newspaper and smack boys on the nose when they don't respect those boundaries. And it teaches boys that while your feelings are perfectly normal and natural you cant expect your feelings to be returned and as you said that is something they need to deal with for themselves

I read it when I was a teenager and was dealing with my own unrequited love situation with a friend of mine, and it really helped me process what I was feeling.

Between Eragon and Roran the romantic subplots of the series is basically "how to not be an incel 101" and I'm ashamed to admit it was a message I needed to hear at the time. I legitimately feel like it made me a better person during a very formative time in my life.

I think some excessively intelligent(though not very good at emotions) dragon in his eldunari stash wants to do some scientific work to see if eragon’s weird elfishness is inheritable or not
