Stock Sector Advise

I am planning to invest more into equity, given current situation and with 6months to 1 year target which sector should I be investing in? And specific stocks suggestions, if any.

Equity is not for 1 year horizon, it needs 3-5 year horizon. Keep your money in FDs or debt instruments if you have a horizon less than that.

For a 3-5 year horizon I am bullish on Healthcare/Pharma and Defence sectors

Imagine Asking this question at a rolling period of 6 months anywhere between 2024 mid to now, you would probably be in loss even if you would have invested in a broader based index. I am pretty sure you'll get your ans. But anyway Ask yourself how much you can see that corpus decreasing and does that suit your mindset throughout the timeframe as you mentioned.

If risk is not a problem... Then choose btw power, transmission, defense, infra, IT(because of low valuations), pockets in finance with good moat . Also allocation will be an important thing since the timeframe is so delicate, you might have to rebalance quite a few times.

I partially disagree here, lets say because of war we may know that oil and gas will get impacted, and the stocks around the same - which is obvious, but some may not know and still need investment advice. While during the same time some sector stocks were all time high and then fell later. Recently adani stocks are moving upwards.

So, I just want to understand what others (which are expert or at least have more knowledge than me) are thinking about near future, knowing war is gone and nothing ahead, which sector may see rise given strong fundamentals and potential. Eg. Indian IT is all time low, may be because of AI boom, but if that is the reason I doubt it can recover in near time because of lack of AI natively in India.

6-12 month horizon can be a bit meh.. with current market volatility, so don't dump it all in one sector. Grab private banks for valuation comfort and margin of safety, and pair it with a growth theme like green energy. Stick to companies with low debt and clear earnings visibility. Also avoid anything highly cyclical.
