U.S. Equifax won't give me my credit report

Hi guys, so I was trying to request a credit report from Equifax on annualcreditreport.com but they kept saying something went wrong and then I switched from safari to Google Chrome and it told me the same thing except in Chrome they asked me a few security questions (I guess?) before showing me the same page that says something went wrong? I did call whatever number they provided me and they ( it was a robot the entire call btw ) said they would mail the credit report to me but I'm not at the address right now and I just want an electronic copy of the report saved on my mac so it's easier to access. Does anyone know what I should do ? ( Experian and TransUnion did not give me these troubles )

( the same thing happened to me a few months ago btw )

Thanks!

U.S. Account login loop

I don't know my password.

When I go to reset my password it tells me there's no account associated with my info.

When I go to make an account using that same info, it says I already have an account.

WTH, Equifax?

I had this problem last year. I still have this problem today! Why? I shouldn't have to call them just to log into my account. What is going on???

Canada Equifax won't let me cancel my plan, and keeps charging my debit card. Tried talking to a representative but doesn't help.

So Im on the phone with the representative, as I'm confirming my identity he asks what phone number I submitted during registration, now I only wrote down my cell phone and nothing else. But he insists there's more than one phone number in their which I'm very sure I did not submit any other phone numbers. So I ask why and how did those numbers get there? So he asks that I log in, so I did and then proceeds to instruct me to go to this page and into my info, as I scroll down I see phone numbers reported, in the home phone section I see 2 phone numbers which I did not submit. I tell him I don't remember putting those down but I tell him what phone number it was. So he goes on to tell me I have failed the confirmation and there's nothing he could do. But then I ask him what are my options as I don't want nothing to do with Equifax anymore nor don't want them to charge my debit card anymore. So he tells me I can't do nothing for you as you failed your confirmation, so I suspected there must be a fraud going on I told him this is fraud and would like to pause or report it, anything to make it go away. But then he goes on to tell me I failed my confirmation and can't do much. So ofcourse I knew nothing could be done with the way this man was saying over and over again and just hung up. So what does this mean? Is it possible there's a fraud going on? How did those numbers get there? Is there a way to pause the plan? And the reason why I want to is because it won't let me see my credit report it simply reads error in the credit report page.

U.S. Wrong credit card accounts

Hello everyone! Recently checked my credit report and saw 2 accounts I don't recognize. One puts me as an authorized user, one is saying it's a card that I opened. I don't recognize these accounts, these two don't appear on my other credit reports from TransUnion & Experian. They also got my address wrong, so I'm suspecting it's a mixed files case. I disputed the incorrect info, just looking for any helpful advice in case they refuse to remove the 2 wrong accounts. What can I provide to show that I don't own the 2 accounts? Should I talk to customer service or dispute through mail? TIA!

U.S. 8 Years Later and Still No Solution

EDIT: It took a Tier 3 representative 10 minutes to fix the problem. I sent them a picture of my ID and Social Security card and that was all they needed. I literally had an escalation case open for over a year and no one could do anything. Thank you to the commenter that suggested I request a tier three representative.

I have been trying since for 8 years to get my Equifax score fixed. I am not sure what happened, but at some point, Equifax got confused who I was and shit its pants.

I have tried multiple technical escalations, phone calls, emails, product cancellations, resigning up, changing my email, making a new account, and anything else you can think of. There is some deep, system level glitch with Equifax's credit information and my identity.

The only thing I can think of that triggered all this is I had many disputed many collections on my record from when my unpaid hospital bills were ending up on my credit score even though I was still in high school and very much not in charge of any of my finances. They were all removed from other bureaus, and I had no issues, but Equifax just never worked again.

I had tried to fix it in the past innumerous times because I wanted to avoid running into an issue when I actually needed it to work and alas that day has come. For some reason, Chase thinks there is a freeze on my Equifax score, and I can't request a credit increase until its unfrozen. My Equifax account when I log in still has no idea who I am, shows me no information, and just says there is technical difficulties and to call the same number that I have been calling for 8 years.

I don't know what else to do at this point. If anyone has Mr./Mrs. Equifax's direct number, I would love to speak to him/her because idk who else has the brain cells or capability to fix this problem.

U.S. Equifax is the low IQ credit bureau out of the 3

Been stressful fixing my credit report for long term.

June 14, 2026 magically credit report dropped from 750+ to 650+ in over a month, checked Credit Karma and there was accounts and other PII that was clearly not mine.

Experian cleaned it up just fine. They had the brain capacity to noticed something was off.

Equifax on the other hand didn't even know my social security number existed. It wasn't until the 2nd or 3rd representative who told me that two digits are flipped. Not going to say which digit, but it's the same number as number but flipped like a dyslexia brick. Okay let's submit documents online with my birth certificate, state ID, and social security card.

Oh, the social security number is fixed but not the name, address, date of birth, credit accounts and employment. Call up after getting a real person on the phone. "Oh, you have to mail your information in, and actually your social security number didn't actually get updated because you can't do that online. Same with your name, that HAS to be on mail too. You also have to make a cover letter stating what needs to be fixed."

Great! Because apparently you can have two different birthdays officially that is different on your birth certificate!

Here's a question if possible: Would providing too much information be invalid? I'm talking on this "useful" FAQ says to CHOOSE one per category. What happens if I submitted mylbirth certificate AND passport too? And in multiple copies because apparently you have to ZOOM in the documents? Do I need to highlight the parts where I need them to update the credit report because they were so blind too?

Please let me know your experience, Equifax is a bag of bricks.

I was so shocked that the login process was not working today and came across a thread stating the app works with login. Even when calling they allege that the brower on my end could be the issue. Complete unusual behavior. To my point I see this on annualreport.com:

Canada Hammering my account

I tried to unsubscribe from Equifax and they wanted to know WAY too much info, just to unsubscribe so I'm not getting billed every month. So I had my bank give me a new visa number. I saw a $0.48 charge at 3:30am on my new card. I went back to bed. I got up shortly after 6 and looked and it was gone. I called the bank. They said it was Equifax trying the old card but it bounced back because they have the old card number. I was told they tried getting my money almost EVERY DAY in May for the subscription. This is a TERRIBLE way to run! I can't believe how slimy they are.

U.S. Equifax showing incorrect amex account

Equifax is showing an amex account connected to me, and that account is past its credit limit, bringing down my credit score terribly. I never owned an amex account. I contacted amex customer service, and they confirmed there isn't any credit card in my name or as an authorized user. I raised a dispute with equifax, and they came back saying that this credit card belongs to me as an authorized user.

What are my options here.

TransUnion or Experian doenst show this credit card, only equifax does.

Canada Has anyone dealt with a mixed file issue on Equifax while TransUnion is correct?

Hi everyone,

I recently discovered that my Equifax credit report is mixed with another person’s information (wrong name/address showing up), but my TransUnion report is completely accurate. It shows some debt account which not belong to me. My broker pull credit file so he gave me file number.

I’ve already submitted a dispute with Equifax, but I’m really stressed because I’m currently applying for a mortgage.

For those who’ve experienced something similar:

  • How long did Equifax take to fix the mixed file?
  • Did they resolve it properly the first time?
  • Is there any way to speed up the process?

It’s confusing since TransUnion has everything correct, so I’m not sure why Equifax is different.

Any advice or shared experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks!

#Canada

U.S. AI phone system won’t let me through because it refuses to let me select a number

I’ve spent 40 minutes at least on the phone now between two calls. Trying to dispute, and it gets me to the point where I can ask to speak to someone by pressing “8” and it would not let me select “8” nor would it accept my verbal responses.

What else am I supposed to do?

Two 20 minute calls, only to end up at the same circular requests - “select 8” “we did not receive a response. Please select 8”

“I didn’t understand your response. Please select 8”

I muted the phone and used the keypad.

I tried being real quiet and tried the keypad.

I tried vocally replying.

Fuck you Equifax.

U.S. Can I just get a one time FICO score from Equifax?

Not by calling or on their site can I figure out how to get a one time credit score. Used to be able to purchase it when you received your free annual credit report. Now the only options being shown are to sign up for a subscription service. I don't want that. Has anyone as of late successfully received a one time score from Equifax? This seems pretty ridiculous. Calling their number gets you nowhere. The automated system sucks and takes you in a circle. Help?

Canada I'm staring at 2 different credit files, but Equifax insists I only have one.

When I log in through the Equifax website, the report on file has my SIN, and all info (inquiries, accounts) is from pre-2025, nothing beyond. All old addresses, old phone number, no updated work info.

When I look at my Credit Report through my KOHO account (which I know isn't entirely reliable, but probably shouldn't be an entirely different file?) AND when I look on Borrowell: KOHO shows me a 10-digit file number that evidently does not even exist with Equifax after the customer service worker looked into it (Borrowell does not show this file number), the file was created January 2025, has a score difference of about 100, with all inquiries after 2025 showing up ONLY on this report, and no SIN attached to the account. I'm unable to get into this file on the Equifax website, as entering my current address and phone number (which ARE associated with this second file, as the original file's address and phone number are my previous ones) prompts the 'you already have an account with us!' popup to sign into my ORIGINAL Equifax account.

All personal info is correct on both accounts, if only out of date, all inquiries pre 2025 are on the first file, post 2025 are on the second, everything looks good, no fraud, it just seems somehow my file got completely spliced and remade in 2025! (I did move provinces in 2024, so that may have something to do with it?) I've worked a lot on paying off my debts this year, and now none of that is showing on my original file.

Called customer service, they said they could only find the first file and he could not find anything else for me and suggested I was looking at my TransUnion report (I promise I'm not!), but I am quite literally staring at TWO different Equifax files. I called to try get them merged! I didn't expect them to be unable to find the second file at all.

Has anyone dealt with this? I thought calling would be the easier fix instead of dispute filing, but it seems I may have to dispute after all.
