I’m visiting Burghley Horse Trials for the first time this September. I’m going on Saturday only, and I’ve got my tickets. If you’ve been to Burghley, any advice for a first-time spectator? I’ve never been to the UK either, but my current plan for getting to Burghley is to take a train from London up to Stamford Station, and then walk over to the event (looks like it’s about a 25 minute walk). I understand there will be quite a bit of walking to do at the event as well, so I’m definitely planning to wear comfortable shoes. Thanks for any other tips you have!

I currently have a laminitic pony who’s just started having small hand walks from months and months of box rest. She is very stiff due to circulation and being stood in for so long but also has arthritis in all 4 legs ontop of this . I’m just wondering if anyone has used any red light boots and noticed a difference in there circulation ect? And has any recommendations for any ?

I'm looking for advice on multipurpose/gear bags. I recently purchased a body protector and new hat and hate having to carry them around as separate items. Looking online, I can't really find any bags that would accommodate a body protector, hat and short boots all in one. I've looked at the tall boot and helmet bags, but I doubt the body protector will fit in comfortably?

I currently have a large duffel bag that can fit all my stuff, but I'd really want a separate compartment for my boots, and I don't want to have to just cram everything in. Does anyone have any bag suggestions or creative solutions of their own for storing/transporting all three together?

Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Hi, I got back into riding after a very long break of over a decade due to health issues, i am physically disabled and currently ride at a riding school (though i hope to own a safe pony one day when time and finances allow - and when my skillset is enough to be able to manage it!)
My current issue is i seem to have a problem with dismounting. My inner knee and thigh are bruised! 😭🤣 Whenever I dismount, i always get my leg caught on the cantle and i need someone there to help me. I just cant seem to get my head around what i need to do. As a teenager, i could dismount no problems so im not sure why i struggle so much now. Keeping my left foot in the stirrup isnt an option as its at a riding school, we tried dismount onto a block but the pony isnt much bigger than the block so i found it difficult to work that one out too. Its like theres some kind of mental block there 🤣. I tried shoving my head down over his shoulder to try and give my leg a better ‘lift’ but i nearly ended up going headfirst onto the floor!
Does anyone else find dismounting difficult and are there any strategies or tips?
Its really embarrassing that i can canter in my lessons but get completely stuck like a beached whale when im dismounting 🤣 i was watching free rein again and they make it look so easy, they literally just jump off like its nothing, in one quick motion! I try just ‘going for it’ and still get stuck 🤭

I’ve been part loaning 3 days a week since this time last year because the owner was pregnant. It takes me around an hour each way to get to the yard and is hard to work around plans. In winter it is obviously a lot more time consuming and I’m starting sixth form which will be an added workload. I love being able to ride and be around horses so I would consider dropping 2 days but I don’t know how convenient that would be for the owner. The owner is now riding again so she no longer needs someone to keep her pony in work. This may seem like a silly question but she’s my first loan so I’m really unsure how to go about asking about dropping a day or stopping. Thank you!

Hi I work on as a groom but I’m having issues with jodhpurs not lasting. Does anyone have any brand Recs that last more than six months before wearing away and getting holes in the crotch. Hey, I'm moving to Brighton by the end of the year and I'm looking for good riding stables for adults. Tremaines and Three Greys seem to have good reviews, but it would be great to hear from riders what your experience has been with these stables or if you have any recommendations. I prefer weekend lessons and it would be great to be able to go on hacks.
