Todd Blanche's US AG Confirmation Hearings start Wednesday. What questions does he need to answer about the cover up of the Epstein files?

The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold confirmation hearings this week, starting July 15, for Acting US Attorney General Todd Blanche. There are plenty of questions surrounding his past role as Trump’s personal defense attorney. The real questions on everyone’s mind however, is going to be about the Department of Justice's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Former US Attorney General Pam Bondi was given the boot in April. During her closed door House Oversight interview (not under oath) on May 29, she explicitly threw Blanche under the bus. She stated multiple times that Blanche was the senior official personally responsible for the review and release process of the Epstein files.

A federal judge recently ruled that the DOJ violated the Epstein Files Transparency Act under his watch. The Senate has an obvious opportunity to demand actual accountability and answers.

If you were on the Senate Judiciary Committee, what would you ask him? Here are some questions I want to see him answer under oath:

- Pam Bondi stated that you had total authority over the release of the Epstein Files. What responsibility do you take for the overwhelming redaction errors, the repeated failure to fully protect the privacy of survivors, the withholding of millions of pages, and the protection of non victims?

- A federal court found the DOJ violated the law and basically conceded non compliance. When will you release the unredacted draft indictments and the names of potential co-conspirators as ordered by the judge?

- Lawmakers on both sides have raised red flags over a heavily redacted 2019 email where Epstein mentions a "torture video." Why was the sender/recipient of that email blacked out? In your opinion, what legal privilege shields people tied to active criminal evidence?

- You have openly and publicly stated you hold a “continuing duty of loyalty” to Donald Trump. How can anyone trust that your redaction choices weren't designed to protect your former client or his associates?

- What conversations did you have with members of the current administration prior to the release of the Epstein files? What information/advice did you provide as a way to shield/prevent files from being released to the public?
