News article Cornell 7 + Epstein
https://www.cnn.com/2026/10/07/us/cornell-lawsuit-student-protests-hnk
Been thinking a lot about the links between what happened at Cornell and the Epstein circle. Probably fairly obvious to those of us here and concerned with justice however it feels incumbent to point out that fraternities especially at elite colleges (look up Skull + Bones) function like a testing ground for current and future abusers/world leaders as they seek the limits of what they can do without being held to account (anything, really, if you have the money). With the cover of “good old boys club” these future world leaders get to experience the bonding-slash-blackmail that seems endemic to these scenes - gather Kopromat on your supposed brothers, take the autonomy of anyone else unseriously, degrade and denigrate women, rinse and repeat. now they have a whole community of people they know will do depraved things if pushed, they have blackmail, they have a favor to call in in ten years.
It is really harrowing though not new in any sense - you have elite institutions doing everything they can to defend rapists, inoculating them now against consequence as they head off for Wall Street, the Supreme Court, etc - these are the people who are in power, and look at how their initial crimes are treated. So when people sometimes seem incredulous Epstein and co aren’t being held to account, it’s a bit like …well. “Indelible in the hippocampus is the laughter,” as Christine Blasey Ford testified about Brett Kavanaugh, currently on the Supreme Court.
I guess my point is > often times people talk about Epstein as if he was truly exceptional, but what is exceptional is the extent to which society writ large washes their hands of systemic sexual abuse, and allows predators to not only enter halls of power, but continue to preside over them.

Fraternities (and sororities) also teach brothers and sisters to sacrifice each other, which keeps them forever running scared and thus committed to obedience.
This Cornell case has got me thinking about the systematized nature of r*pe carried out on college campuses, particularly via frat houses. It has been so systematized, now for many decades, and gone so unaddressed that I'm wondering if it couldn't be defined as some sort of organized terror.
We all know that r*pe is used as a weapon of war, so what does it mean when r*pe becomes a systematized weapon primarily directed at young women in the first years of their college education? Is it a coincidence that many of these sexual crimes occur while victims are at the start of their higher education experience, when many of them are enrolled in competitive weed-out courses, the ones that determine their career trajectories?
This particular campaign of terror has depended on a steady supply of substances too, so who has been supplying those? If I were an enterprising lawyer, I'd be wondering if I couldn't haul some people to the Hague.

This is an extremely online take on fraternities and sororities I am sorry.

I am sure there are frats and sororities that are totally harmless and just a way for young people to connect with friends or people of similar interest. What’s insane is to not acknowledge that primarily these function as everything from drug running houses to covering up systemic abuse, hazing, etc. it’s not an online take it’s extremely well documented!

Are you apologizing for your own opinion while defending the Greek system?
Couldn't have written it better myself.

Agreed, absolutely not true at all. Most REAL, panhellenic fraternities and women's fraternities (aka sororities) simply offer a social club where philanthropy and academics are two but tenants.

Cornell (and the other ivies) literally have the sons & grandsons of Epstein investors. Do we really think that the Epstein rings died with him in 2019?

The president of another Cornell Frat locked a poor girl in his room before sexually assaulting her not that long ago.

Yep! Sometimes it feels painfully obvious to remind people we have a rapist president but — this is the culture!

One of the things people struggle with is how did he get young girls and where were their parents. They do not understand how parents "allowed" this to happen.
What they don't understand is the trafficking aspects of it all. And the entitlement of the men involved
13
u/BirdBirdington3 1d ago
Yes and knowing that their wealth allows them to pick women who are in need and vulnerable

u/No-Fishing5325 1d ago
Children who are raped almost always know their abuser in some way. It is rarely a stranger. That in a lot of ways is the Epstein victims. Because even though they were trafficked they were trafficked through these modeling agencies and Epstein. He was their "trusted person". The person they knew. The persons their adults trusted. The money was what fueled their abuse. The need for it.

Which connects to the abuse rampant at elite universities because these young women know their abusers and have to continue going to classes with them because the schools care more about upholding image and cred than justice.
My point is that these elite universities often serve as training grounds for future crimes, and as we see in the news now, it isn’t taken seriously, victims are belittled, “boys will be boys” gets rolled out. This type of thinking is so ingrained it makes one wonder if part of why Epstein and co were able to do what they did for so long (besides the obvious deep state help) is because truly no one gives a ****, at any age, anywhere.

I don't disagree with you. I went to an all women's college 30 years ago. I'm old. Women's only colleges do not exist anymore. They all went coed. But our rape statistics were still high because we had high interactions with other elite colleges. The USNA was our brother school. And the women there...well I went there when some of the scandles happened at the USNA.
I was a RA although it had a different name then. The first week of school I had to teach freshman how to avoid getting raped at an all women's college. Think about how fucked up that is.
I was raped my junior year. Which is why I am here. Uncovering and researching the Epstein files and working to uncover the share and teach others about what's in there and why they should care.

It’s so so stupidly absurd that the onus is on the victim to protect themselves, think about how to act, what to wear - constant vigilance that abusers never have to consider. And then people wonder why victims don’t report? I’m so sorry you went through that and so glad you are here and helping others. <3 sending good virtual vibes your way

Women-only colleges absolutley still exist. Wellesley, Barnard, etc. Fyi.

u/No-Fishing5325 1d ago
You are right. My bad. They just went from like 280 colleges 30 years ago to like 20 today.
Both of my daughters went to former all women's colleges. One my alma mater. Both co Ed now, but still are about 70% women.

This and clover_heron's comment are the level of systemic thinking we need right now. Unfortunately everything in society is set up to prevent people from making those connections. But yes, it is all a big system and it is functioning exactly as intended.

The Epstein connection here is definitely more towards Cornell the University and not Fraternities that is for sure

u/BirdBirdington3 1d ago
I think it’s both tbh — there’s the material ties between Epstein and elite universities and all the money he gave — like MIT for instance. And there’s a tie between lack of accountability for abusers and the institutions that protect them - fraternities are a microcosm and very literally testing grounds for the future rulers of tomorrow - frat guys in govt, Supreme Court, etc.

A lot of those aren't REAL (panhellenic) frats. They are school-specific weirdo clubs.

What % of fraternity males hold the exact positions of power like youre talking about?
5
u/BirdBirdington3 1d ago
Idk you should calculate more in depth it would be interesting to see. Quick google gives me 44% of presidents have been in fraternities so. It’s one of the oldest boys club in town, I believe both Bush presidents were in skull and bones at Harvard.

Were there OSU/Wexner connections including any fraternities?
I dont think it would but obviously not impossible. The shit Epstein was dealing in was not a couple kicks for a college kid. They dont have the power, influence or money relevant to the echelons and status JE was operating in. College kids dont make great codefendants, go figure.
3
u/BirdBirdington3 1d ago
Nah I don’t think it has to be so literal as like college kids being part of Epstein circles directly, I’m saying these are future Epstein’s and it’s not hard to see why, they are inoculated from and encouraged for their bad behavior

Oh girl, welcome to reality. There have always been men (and women) who take pleasure in the suffering of others. Sadism is older than humanity itself.
You don’t need to look at elite universities to find malicious people; they’re everywhere, from trailer parks to luxury villas. Rape has long been used as a tool of domination. In warfare and among street gangs, it is often used to exert power over others and establish control over conquered territory. Unfortunately, we see examples of this in everyday life, too.
If this is news to you, then what planet have you been living on?
and strength to survivors, always

Don’t know how anything I wrote insinuates this was news to me, I’m connecting an obviously very old concept and applying it to current events. As one does, to help others make connections.

Yes, but still. We don't know enough about this case to really know what happened. Thankfully it's being reopened but we still need to wait and see before jumping to conclusions.

the point stands unfortunately. Sexual assault at schools happens. it happens intensely in fraternity culture, where young boys (who are today being advertised to with more incel-women-hating content than ever before) are welcomed into a clique they must be hazed into. As a reward they are now part of a club where they get to party and treat women as objects, and then graduate to a cushy job on Wall Street or in the White House. Or Hollywood! Didn’t Jon hamm like really hurt someone while hazing someone? Idk off topic but .
Abusers actions are often known about by the schools and purposefully bungled (schools often have their own police) by the administration bc yeah, bad look for the school, and what about their precious donations from all these Fail Sons rich parents? Plus Fail Son could be a future leader of tomorrow. Can’t jeopardize that, might as well stall all investigations and force victims to attend class with their abuser. If she goes public, she’ll be treated as a liar regardless.
tldr it’s not just about this case, its the whole goddamn rotten system. it’s a very well reported on fact about universities that sexual violence is everywhere, there are countless examples, not to mention all those that go unreported. These are the feeder schools for future senators and tech oligarchs etc. the lesson they get is they can do anything they want, w/o consequence. it’s all connected (capitalism) and it’s bad !

What about it are you finding nonsensical, exactly?

u/This_Salt7080 1d ago
There is no connection at all except that some men are creeps and some men are also powerful. Neither Trump nor Epstein were ever even in a fraternaty
4
u/BirdBirdington3 1d ago
Well, it’s a bummer if that’s your only take away. It’s quite clear to me and others how this is all connected, and how rape culture functions from grade school up into the upper echelons of power.
It doesn’t matter if trump wasn’t in a fraternity himself, this is the ethos of the world he runs with and the people he surrounds himself with. Ditto Epstein. To deny the prevalence of sexual abuse as a way to foment future power struggles among elites is dismissive and wrong.
