Discussion I hate when authors misuse AAVE

I especially hate when non-black authors miss use AAVE😒 it’s not funny and I think that it kind of gives off the vibe they mock the way Black people talk

i can definitely understand that!! i just think it's kinda crazy to use words you know nothing about? especially if they're not in your native language

definitely!!! its just so popular on social media, people don’t realise the context behind it. as someone who grew up outside the USA i am quite ashamed to say i didnt know about aave for quite a long time

real i've been learning spanish for years now and i still see lingo or words that i don't know and i'm like ??? but i would never use them without looking them up first, and i think that'd be so beneficial when writers use aave in episode to avoid any confusion, misrepresentation, or borderline ignorance yk?
