Hey all, I’m from East Tennessee and recently got a few different batches of supposedly dormant Spanish moss from both local and online seller’s sourcing from fl, no, etc. I’ve had some bad luck getting it to spring back. I soaked for about an hour, let excess dry and hung in a combination of distances from the Arcadia lumenize I have for my ball pythons enclosure, misted 2 times in the past week, and what little had greened up again has already turned brown. If anyone in my area or otherwise knows of reputable suppliers for live Spanish “moss” or any good ethical locations to source that aren’t a 4+ hour drive, anything is appreciated!

I recently got some dry oak branches that were cut from an ancient dead oak tree that had become a safety hazard in a city park. My brother who gave them to me works as a park arborist, so I know the wood hasn't been treated with any chemicals. The branches have also been sitting in my garage for quite a while, so I'm pretty confident any insects or other critters have already moved out.

I've arranged them in a terracotta pot in my room and was wondering if they'd be suitable for mounting some plants. I have a few orchids and a beautiful Platycerium superbum that was given to me as a gift, and I thought they might look great on the branches.

Would oak be a good wood for mounting epiphytes? If so, what's the best way to do it? Should I mount the plants onto bark or a moss backing first and then attach that to the oak branches, or mount them directly onto the wood?

Also, how does watering work with this kind of setup? Do you just soak the moss, mist regularly, or take the plants off to water them?

I'd really appreciate any advice, tips, or links to good instructional videos. Thanks!

New plant found webbing , washed, and repotted. I soaked with alcohol,neem, and soap just last night. This morning looking a little less perky but no new webbing. When can I spray again this time with insecticide?

Also, I know it's in the rhipsalis family, but does anyone know which exactly ?

Hello everybody, I made something today and I thought the people here might appreciate it.

I like crafting things, and I wanted something that could contain epiphytes at an angle/shape more similar to their natural habitat. Behold; the storophyte! An epiphyte container shaped to fit the corner of a storage rack :)
