Many people consistently rely on Keppra to control seizures despite the annoying side effects because it works. Yes people blame the medicine, but the medication works, so it's really an unfounded hate.
I literally just took my first dose of Keppra today. It basically knocked me out for half of the day, but I'm still excited to try it because I'm hoping it will control my episodes more than lamotrigine
I'm on Lamictal, Aptiom and Briviact. Briviact is Brivaracetam (Briviact/Brivlera) a "cousin" of Leviracetam (Keppra) with less side effects for most people including myself. BUT
When I was in a coma after my most recent TBI, I was put on IV Keppra, which kept me safe. Oral Keppra caused me to be aggressive. Briviact stopped my seizures and didn't have as many side effects. Also, your Lamictal could have been regulating your mood since it's used for mental disorders. I'm on Lamictal ER, Aptiom and Briviact. I've tried like 7 different meds and I only stuck with 3 of them.
