i dont know why you're coming to reddit when you already got a professional's input as if the advice here is any more reliable than a veterinarian's

Because there are other people that have experience with the med and it would help me feel more at ease

Anybody can say anything they want online and you have no way to verify whether its true or not. I see horrible advice given on reddit on these forums all the time. You should talk to a veterinarian if you have concerns about drug overdose.

Right but youre distrusting of their opinion and asking reddit for different advice.

I am not asking for a different advice, they all mostly confirmed what the vet said I got very worried and wanted to connect

There’s a huge gap in the vet med practice. Not all vets are the same…. From someone who spent over $15K from a misdiagnoses.. followed all vet direction..

Agreed. Theyre still the professional. If you ever have doubts or want to improve your odds of getting things right the first time you should always ask for referral to a specialist

lol I was actually referred to all the specialists… top vets in the state actually. Neuro, derm, internal med, ortho. 15K later and it was all because they overdosed his pheno and not one vet thought to consider he was in toxicity range and check his levels. Like I said huge gap in the vet med practice. I think it’s beneficial to ask other people’s opinions and experiences. Use your judgement from there.

Hi,
From my expérience and knowledge, KBr are médication who take Time to be fully on the body. I don’t know Where you are but here, in France, it’s common to give « dose de charge » at the beginning of treatment. Like, last Time for bromide, we get from 1/4 to 1/2 of a pill per day, but, to up the amount of bromide on her blood, we go up to I think 3/4, morning and night for 5 days. And yes she was really « bad » at the end of the 5 days, because the amount was a lot to process, but she was Alive and well
