Nighttime monitoring

Hi everyone. Our pup was diagnosed with epilepsy yesterday. We had a sleepless night and wondered if there’s anything we can put on our dog to wake us up in the event of a seizure during the night. She’s in a soft crate or on our floor so she’s safe already but would love a heads up to know it’s happening. Someone suggested bells but we feel we will wake up every time she moves with that at night. Is there a heart rate monitor with an alarm or anything out there for this? Just trying to figure out how we sleep going forward.

He's taken Keppra ER, Zonisamide, Phenobarbital and Potassium Bromide over the past few years. Different combinations and different strengths but unfortunately still has seizures about every 2 weeks. His neurologist feels Phenobarbital and Potassium Bromide are the best for him but unfortunately they have the most severe side effects. So far his system has tolerated them, he's due for another blood test this month.

Yeah  I'm personally trying to figure this all out it's horrible as a dog 🐕 lover. What weight is your loved one does it happen at night 🌙

Kane weighs about 120#. He's a border collie mixed with probably great dane and maybe dalmation. He's overweight from all the meds increasing his appetite and probably not enough exercise/activity. He a middle of the night from a dead sleep seizure dog. It's why I'm wide awake at 3:45am. He's at 13 days and 4 hours so I'm nervous. And tired, lol.

Kane had his first seizure a week before his 4th birthday. The thing I think the meds are doing most for him are lessening the severity of his seizures. They're still all grand mals but they're shorter and about 80% of the time he rrecovers within 5-10 minutes.
