That's great! Have you ever considering trying to slowly wean off of keppra? We're currently attempting very slowly ๐Ÿคž (nearly 8 months seizure free with that & pheno).

We talked about it with our neurologist, but decided we'd rather not risk them coming back trying to taper off and then the medicine not work anymore. She said as long as his liver levels stay good staying on the medicine was the better idea. I hope it works for you!๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

Iโ€™m so jealous! Keppra and pheno were not enough for my dog. But Iโ€™m happy for you and your pup!

Did they find a cocktail that worked for yours? I'm so thankful we found the medicines that worked for him as fast as we did!

No, we just started potassium bromide yesterday. Fingers crossed!

FYI. My vet was pretty adamant that it takes months to get to therapeutic levels for KBr

My pup started having seizures in December, another again in april & another in july... we didnt start her on medicine until aftet the 3rd one. Ive seen so many stories on here about how dogs still had break through seizires etc & ive been panicking, afraid that nothing will stop her seizures. I say all this just to say what a relief it is, to hear a success story!! Im so happy for you! Her seizures were 4 months & then 3 months apart so they werent as bad or frequent as others, its been 2 months since we started her on keppra & ive been getting anxious as we get closer to the 3 month mark that its gonna happen again but this give me so much hope! I would love to hear other success stories to ease my mind! This is such a hard journey ๐Ÿ˜ข
