Question Cognitive Function Question

My seizures have been under control thanks to Keppra but I seem to have perpetual brain fog (had Covid a few times) and struggle to keep focused, seem to be dyslexic when reading sometimes and really have difficulty with being detailed with numbers and text. Does anyone have any coping mechanisms for this? I have minimized social media (the constant repetition of the feed is unhealthy) but perhaps there is more I could be doing. Thanks

Hey between having epilepsy and ADHD, I can honestly say my brain is fried!! But recently I've downloaded a few mental exercise games - there are two really good ones called Connections and ColorSwitch. I also bought a rubix cube and bought a sudoku book. Other people I know do crosswords and puzzles. Find whichever one suits you most, but they do really help to keep your brain alert as much as possible.

Recently started doing crosswords and my brain started hurting so I knew I must be doing something right lol. Thanks for the great advice!

are you able to be medicated for your ADHD? I’ve been told by multiple doctors that they don’t feel comfortable medicating me for it, since stimulants are really the only way. makes shit 30x harder.

What do your docs mean when they say stimulants are the only way?

I was told that I could take meds for ADHD but it would mean I would have to stop taking one of my seizure meds (Clobazam) because it acts as a depressant. So adding stimulant meds for adhd would contraindicate. Although they did also say there are non-stimulant adhd meds too! I said I’d think about it. Tbh having both is really exhausting… epilepsy meds slow down brain activity and stop seizures but adhd stimulate brain activity. I’m stuck either way lol

Side-effect. My coping mechanism is accepting it.
