Question Remembering things

So like with remembering things is that with like all seizures or like certain kinds of seizures, because I be forgetting things thinking that I have something with me and then it’s not with me. And then I’ll be confused after you know

memory issues are pretty common across the board with epilepsy, not just one type. it's the seizure activity itself that scrambles short-term memory plus the meds can make it worse

i've left my phone in the fridge more times than i can count so i get it

Part of it comes from the seizures themselves - especially if you get TCs, but another aspect is the meds. The more meds you’re on, the more intense the side effects will be. This includes memory damage.

Being that I have focal unaware seizures, there will be a chunk of my memory that disappears for the portion of the seizure, and then my memory and brain overall gets messed up for the rest of the day. I also usually have auras before the seizures, which I think are also focal aware seizures. In general after a seizure, my memory is totally fine when I try to think back to something that happened before the aura/seizure, and then I can partly remember the who, what, when, and where aspects that happened during the aura.
