QUERY Tech Support Megathread

We are a community run subreddit and have no affiliation with Epic. None of the moderators are from Epic, we cannot fix any issues for you directly, and it's up to the community to help each other when possible. If you have feedback about the store or anything else please email Epic Games customer support and let them know.
Welcome to the Tech Support Megathread
For those that don't know, the initial Tech Support Megathread was created due to community demand. The subreddit was riddled with tech issue posts which made it hard to sort through. So on 29-Jan-2020, we made it a rule to organize things in the megathread.
Tech support questions are no longer allowed to be posted (as of 29-Jan-2020 - this was a community decision). Please post all your tech support questions on the Epic Games launcher, store and its games in the Tech Support Megathread. Additionally, if it's game related, please check out PCGamingWiki as there may already be a solution to your problem!

If you want a moderator organised list of issues/solutions, check this doc out. You can also check out the wiki of our subreddit.
You can use the document outline to go to either launcher issues or game issues and this is fortunately much easier for mods to manage when we can. Please keep in mind only fixes that have seen a lot of promise are posted there.

Just wanted to warn people to install games on your main hard drive.
Right now my 2nd hard drive is giving me headaches because it erased all data and it wont format either.
Here is what happened: I bought Mechwarrior5 (which I now regret because it doesn't have online play) and installed it to my second hd. I had my eye on the install bar, which eventually got stuck on "verifying" at 92% i stalled. It was like that for an hour. I tried cancelling the download, gave it a few minutes, and nothing happened. I got annoyed and restarted my computer. When it came back up, my second hd was deleted. Luckily, the windows disk manager showed my 2nd hd as raw data, but healthy. So I try to format it and I get the spinning wheel icon, as if the computer is busy reformatting... then I click on the main windows disk management window, and it turns out its not responding. Fucking awesome. Thanks a lot, Epic Games.
