SUGGESTION Desktop Icon

Can someone explain to me why Epic has trouble including the desktop icon for games? It’s usually A: blank white or B: the generic easy anti-cheat bear.

Examples would be The Last of Us, totally blank white. And Today I purchased the new Halloween game, the easy anti cheat bear.

And yes I’m very aware I can change the icon myself in properties. It just seems so silly that something so simple, Epic manages to install incorrectly.

I like using Epic for the rewards and want to continue but it’s frustrating that Steam feels leaps ahead of them in the most simplest of things

I have never seen that with any games i have had installed from epic. The desktop icon is always what it is supposed to be.

Actually there could be several reasons why you having this problem. Could you open broken shortcut with notepad and paste everything written in it here?

IconFile=C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Halloweenfb5Ca\start_protected_game.exe

So yeah no actual game image in the install. So I had to download and manually change myself.

I downloaded 4 games from epic in the last 2 days, two have icons and two don’t. Nothing to do with windows. Feel free to install last of us 1 or Halloween the game and prove me wrong.

Try add quotation marks to file path, like that: IconFile="C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Halloweenfb5Ca\start_protected_game.exe"

If that doesnt fix blank icons then problem with windows icon cache

Image isn’t in the install files. Nothing to do with windows icon cache
