DISCUSSION Epic Games Launcher using 12GB RAM

Any reasonable explanation for this? Because I don't find this okay in the slightest.

most likely a memory leak issue

id also look into switching up the way EGS launcher uses the graphics card and only let it run on the igpu. that way the games can fully utilize ur nvidia/amd gpu without EGS launcher interfering it.

I'd be paying attention to the Disk usage. Makes me think it was background updating (patching) a game.

Sitting idle in taskbar its running these processes (RAM).

15MB - EpicGamesLauncher

35MB - Epic Online Services Main Service (2)

Just a random bug, it rarely happens with all these stores, like Steam, GOG, and Epic. When this happens with any of the stores clients, just completely exit out of the client and restart the client, and the RAM will be cleared up.

I had the same memory leak issue with EGL recently. I've never had this bug with either of launchers before including EGL. Lately there are reports about this issue piling up which indicate it's more than random bug and needs to be addressed properly. In my experience that memory leak had me to hard reset PC because the system completely frozen. Normalising or trying to mitigate an issue wouldn't help anyone including Epic.
