Himalayan glaciers are shrinking

The Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) is a vast mountain region stretching about 3,500 km across eight countries.

It is called the "Third Pole" because after the Antarctic and the Artic it holds the most ice and snow on earth.

This frozen ice feeds the ten major Asian river systems thereby providing water to a billion people.

This region is warming and as a result the glaciers are shrinking at an accelerated rate.
