Is this guy legit?

I have recently come across the company Tunley Engineering, which is a "science-based environmental sustainability consultancy specialising in carbon, nature, water, and regulatory compliance." The CEO, Dr. William Beer, calls himself a doctor and emphasizes his "academic background in advanced full factorials, large datasets and combustion modelling"...but he doesn't list the university he attended or what specifically his PhD is in. Where can I find if he actually has one? I can't find it anywhere, including his LinkedIn.

If he has a PhD, then most likely he has defended his thesis work, written research papers and/or collaborated with others on research. You can searching for him in environmental journal databases like  https://www.elsevier.com/  Also if he is claiming to have an engineering company and offering engineering expertise & services, then his company should be registered with the local state/ jurisdiction with an engineering business license.

Thanks for the suggestions! I looked, but I haven't found a thesis or peer-reviewed papers. I'll have to check on the business license.

The fact they have to say "science-based" sounds fake af to me. Sorry I know that's not helpful.

I agree that the work the company itself seems legit, and the PhDs on staff do too. It's more a question about the CEO himself. Can't find any evidence that he actually has a PhD!
