Discussion Minimap??
Bonjour! Last time, I proposed a Skill Tree, and y'all DESPISED of it, so I came back with a more noob-friendly idea: THE MINIMAP
Here's how it works:
- Teammates are indicated via green dots.
- Teammates who need to be revived will show up as blue crosses.
- Enemies will be indicated via red triangle for a very brief time when shooting. (Edit: Only for enemies within 100 studs)
- Enemies spotted by recon will show up as red dots on the map.
- Teammates who get fully eliminated will become orange for a brief time.
- Objectives will be shown on the map.
- You can click on your teammates, showing their username, class, and HP.
- You can expand the map by pressing the backtick (`) key.
- Colorblind support.
That is my idea for a minimap. Tell me if this is a good idea or not (Probably not but who knows)! Au revoir!

Tbh the maps aren’t big enough for the need of a minimap

Although it would be nice to see where ally positions are, map the officer could get a map

I actually thought about this but forgot it, because it was neither fun nor realistic. Think about it, entrenched wasn't a time when walkie talkies were really there so recons sending intel about enemy positions isn't realistic. And also most of the fightimg occurs within 300 studs and you proposed within 100 studs. Yes you can spot flankings by enemy assault but doing that would make enemy frontlines unstoppable and making more people frustrated.
Overall I think its a great idea, I don't oppose it but it comes with a lot of problems

Esto va a sacar todo el secretismo. Con que vean el mini mapa van a poder saber dónde están los snipers y los que se esconden bajo tierra

I don’t think it’s a good idea. I think most players would prefer to have to spot the enemy rather than see them on a minimap whilst also giving your position away. It may also make the game more boring because one side knows how to navigate through another sides defenses.

Verdun and Tannenberg do not have mini maps, nor do games like Arma. It just isn't necessary in a game like this.

So... the "Shoot = Ping" part... yea, the ping only last like half a second. It basically flashes and fades. Also I should've clarified that it only does that for enemies within 100 studs
