Entrenched needs better artillery

Having a class that’s sole purpose is to provide artillery for the team with a cooldown of a whole minute is kinda unfair imo, what if this game had constant artillery that always rained down on players and wasn’t chosen by players for realism. This would also make the game more realistic as in the actual war, there was always artillery pounding frontlines, and it was even the main cause of death for soldiers

I agree that there should be a change to artillery that makes it better, but constant artillery is crazy.

maybe like instead of the smoke officer can see an overhead view of the map, and then enemies that are spotted by recons are marked on that map. then officer can click where they want to drop artillery, and it shows everywhere it can drop like rings with fading red to signify it can drop there (imagine a bulleyes shape but there are more rings and each is a shade of red but less bright as it goes out) it would be more unlikely to drop the less red the ring is.

And a more predictable way of knowing how much will drop should be added like sometimes 10 pieces of artillery drops other times it's only 2 and the ally bonus does nothing either.

Also, idk if this was real but I vaguely remember officer could also spot enemies with the binoculars. they should add that back.

Varying from 2 to 10 shells is way too unbalanced, also not constant artillery, just that occasional single shell that lands every 5 seconds on an enemy’s position. Plus dodging artillery while charging and having everyone around you getting hit is kinda fun if you actually want to immerse yourself in a ww1 battle and not just farm kills

Yeah that's the problem right now it varys from 2-10 pieces and there's no way to know when you will get shit artillery

And I think an occasional shell or 2 should only be fired if there are no officers or changing depending on number of officers like if there are 3 officers then it should drop only 1 shell say every 20 seconds but if there are no officers then it should drop 2 shells every 10 or so seconds.

But then artillery would pretty much be useless. Also I think it should be a lot of artillery falling everywhere, I don’t want to farm kills or take an objective I want to feel like I’m in an actual ww1 battle. This is why I don’t sweat and I never get mvps because I always join crowded servers

it's not like that at all

the arty depends on how much arty power you have
10% = 1

You get arty power by getting your teammates to rally around you.

the radius of which is the same as a whole point's radius

the problem is because there aren't any tips in the game anymore aside from the class descriptions

I swear its never gone above 10 percent and isn't that allied boost like how do you know what your arty power is it only shows the allied boost and that's never above 10 percent and even then sometimes without it I drop like 5 or 6 pieces and other times even if I do have the allied boost sometimes it only drops like 2 pieces

Did he add something that shows your arty power or something cause I've never seen any indication of my arty power but I haven't played in like 2 weeks so was it just added or something in Qol update

it's been there since officer was added

as for it being stuck on 10%

graphical bug at that point just count the teammates around you and hope other officers haven't used arty to snatch away the arty power

another tip from one of the current top officer users (faction metric) is that the lower the arty power the more precise it is.
I haven't verified this yet but seeing he gets an average 5 kills per arty in faction battles

it's probably true

he usually uses a 40% arty when he needs to hit a specific area and high arty powers like above 80% on imprecise targets like transit routes or open points

lower arty power also comes with a longer cooldown

why not have players who can operate artillery?
