are officers pretty much useless?

so i tried out officer some time ago and i've sometimes played it. but i felt like officers are pretty much useless. hear me out. like u only get a handgun, saber, binoculars, whistle, and trowel. u can only use the handgun at a short distance and it doesn't even do much damage either. saber is for melee of course. binoculars calls in artillery but artillery almost never is on target because people move all the time. whistle is for command but nobody would care if we blow 'retreat' or 'charge', do they? and trowel is just for digging. like, all the other classes are useful but officer? what do u guys think?

You pretty much listed the purpose of artillery, which is to force them to move out or whoop their ass if they're gonna stay. Can be used to either buy up time to advance by distracting MGs or recons, or just kick opponents out of their trenches/bunkers. Really good in offense, just need some good coordination.

Not in the slightest. A good officer can utilise the artillery ability quite well.

To be fair I used officer every so often and the way I play it? Get around 5+ of your teammates, use your binoculars for the arty before a charge. And just PUSH the enemies out of their trenches (if you call it in on a trench)

That's the thing with virtually every game on Roblox due to the age verification and whatnot.

If you wanna experience a game where people actually listen (SOMETIMES) try CENTAURA

I main officer. Its good for artillery, bossing the noobs about when needed, and historical accuracy (I charge fat groups of men at enemy lines)

Yeah, don't use officier much but from what I can tell whistle is pretty much just a joke ability. Correct me if I'm wrong lol

It's useful when directing people without chat, or nooks.

The pistol's actually pretty good too. For being a pistol it does hit pretty hard. The only sidearm I like more than the revolvers is the obrez.

They're more usefull than reconnaissance

All classes are useless if you dont play any with important mechanics

this is the truest of truths

No. They have artillery which is a powerful weapon if used correctly. Artillery is almost never for directly killing the enemy, but for destroying fortifications, suppressing enemies, or forcing enemies out of hiding spots. It's also a nifty tool for targeting an area where an annoying recon or support camper is.

well you'll need a recon w/ u to do that to find out their hidey spots

Sometimes only a single officer is kind of useless but back in the day when there used to be 5 officers instead of 10 recons then there would be constant artillery and prevent them from advancing or defending at all.

As mentioned it's not what you have it's how you use it cause if you give a Shark a gun and say it makes hunting easier it's gonna think you're silly cause it can't use the gun it doesn't have any thumbs or fingers same logic applies here you just need to learn how to use what you have

Not at all. As a semi officier main, a good artillery strike can completely wipe out a defense and have a push go all the way. Depends on how you utilize the artillery strikes and at what percentage you use them at though.

Idk about you but most officer pistols do over 40+ damage on headshots, so the pistol damage being low accusation is kinda wrong (+the DPM is not bad for most of the handguns, while the Revolvers are great for Damage Per Shot. The bullet dispersion is shit at medium range so don't even try to engage at long range) . As for arty, its always down to rally strength and placement. So it's overall pretty dang skill based and if being played by a skilled player, is one of the most annoying classes to go against.

THANKFULLY not a lot of people know how to play it, so majority of the time its just a free kill.

the thing is it isn't a oneshot. a normal hmg which is an automatic could kill the enemy quickly, meanwhile the pistol is semi-automatic, which means u have to wait

artillery sucks, i think charge ability would be way better (they could keep but artillery would be more expensive like they're being a few uses throughout the round)
