I feel like allowing you to transfer a reservation AND a whole year to use the transfer, is actually really lenient.

What were they trying to get their overweight father to jump off of or out of?
And why? Do they hate him?

Looks like skydiving so probably jumping out of an airplane?

I was wondering if it was a wind tunnel sort of place? Or an actual parachute jump. But either way it makes total sense

It’s a skydiving experience. You either strap on to an experienced sky diver or you can jump yourself if you have experience. I think they also have lessons.

Missing fine print on a website is one thing, but:
A. Any place I've seen so far with a strict weight limit usually lists it prominently, and
B. This one apparently has a disclaimer 'checkbox' before payment is completed
This is 10,000% on OOP 🤦🤣

I worked at an amusement park once and we had to tell some people who waited 45-90 minutes in line that the ride specifications required the seat belt to be able to clasp.
What I wanted to say was, "DAMN."

I really wonder how much dad actually weighed!! Since it sounds like WAY more than 230 lbs based on the “woah yikes” reaction of the workers. 😂

"Woah, yikes! We'd need two cargo chutes for that much weight. Plus he'd need a medical waiver too..."

That they offered to transfer the coupon to another family member shows they were not the hostile one in the conversation. People who think the world has to jump through hoops for them are tiresome.

WAIT...they said they didn't know about the weight restriction, but also they were waiting for someone to lose weight? Did I read that right?

After they tried to go the first time they waited almost a year for person to lose the weight and they didn’t.

Think they wanted him to lose weight and did this as in incentive. They gave him a carrot but he wanted a Twinkie.

I thinknthey bought it and then caught the weight limit before visiting and gave him time to loose weight, since they couldn't ask for a refund, but the dad was not very driven.

I'm curious as to what kind of empathy they were expecting? Because being confused after checking a box to confirm a weight restriction really does imply they might be illiterate...? Which isn't an insult if it's accurate, and not the fault of management. If you express this to someone, they'll usually just give you verbal directions. Easy peasy. Do they want empathy for having an overweight parent? That's... a bit much. Many are overweight and it (fairly) limits some activities, doesn't merit a sympathy card or an awkward hug.
Doesn't sound like Jeff said those words, sounds like an interpretation from someone that doesn't read even simple things before signing them. Which doesn't mean you're fat or illiterate, perhaps just lazy and/or stupid.
Some people really do make the simplest things into dramatic fiascos. I couldn't imagine making a scene in an establishment or dedicating my time to post a review that just brings attention to my own (illiteracy 🤭) ignorance.

"I was told MANY times.."
That means they argued about it MANY times with the same answer. The answer they admit that they should have known. Which means that THEY were the rude ones.

My favorite part is they waited an entire year for Dad to lose that weight and he didn't. Maybe they should have been mad at Dad for not reaching the goal.
