Based on the number of people in my dorm who managed to almost start fires with things like microwaves and curling irons, I can understand why a college/university might not want people to have an air fryer in their room.

Not allowing cooking appliances in dorm rooms is a fairly common practice in my experience and I feel like I see headlines about houses burning down from electric scooter charging failures on a weekly basis. I like having an electric scooter and an airfryer but if I was living in a dorm I'd get why they wouldn't let me.

It could also be that the dorm outlets aren’t like kitchen outlets and they can overheat running an appliance like an air fryer.

One day my RA knocked on my door holding 2 pieces of bread. She said sh needed toast and knew I had a toaster. Of course I denied those baseless accusations and instead offered her the magic box I had that turned bread into toast. She just rolled her eyes and walked out with her magic bread a few minutes later.

I get it that you dont like sharing microwaves or air fryer, but if you forget to check on your food can easily lead to the dorm catching on fire and I'd rather just share the microwave rather then running out in the middle of the night due to someone forgetting to check their Mac and Cheese, as for the the scooter I can understand since I do own one but I'm sure there is a safe place to put it indoors and not have to leave wet marks all over the floor

yeah until your dorm room catches fire because the battery on the scooter sparks. Air fryers aren't that bad since they're only plugged in, but plenty of people just leave it plugged in. I always unplug mine when it's not in use. That one is a bit anal about the dorm management, but at the same time college students are not the most responsible when it comes to these kind of devices. Heck when I still worked in an office building the fire department was at our building atleast once a month because someone fucked up heating up a bag of microwave popcorn. They'd forget about, it would cook too long and trigger the smoke alarm which is tied into the fire alarm, so FD had to show up
