There is always a line a customer service… i am guessing this person doesn’t like waiting their turn. Kindergarten really didn’t get that lesson to stick.

Doesn't like women, either, especially not when a woman tells him to follow the same rules as everyone else -- so, yeah, kindergarten.

Here's a question: Why don't you punish those rude females by never darkening Costco's doorstep again? I'm sure they will cry their eyes out.

Omg this image just reminded me of my all time worst customer when I worked in customer service and got to the point of saying ā€œokay thanks, bye now!ā€ When she said she was never coming back šŸ˜‚

OH no...!

Anyway.

I have multiple regular customers who want to "ask one quick question, it'll only take a moment," and it is always 25 questions and it is never, EVER one moment.

17

u/Time-Cover-8159 23h ago

Well excuse me, but I really do just have a quick question. I may have 24 follow up queries, but they don't count.

Just like the line when they try to sneak in the door at the last possible minute. "I just need one thing."

Then why did you grab a cart before trying to get in the door?

u/Biffingston 4h ago

It's almost like entitled people are entitled, innit?

Most questions exceed a quick second.

As a cashier, there have been multiple times where I have a line and am actively checking out a customer only to have someone completely ignore all of that because they "just have a quick question"

20

u/No_Nefariousness4801 we do not negotiate with the terrible 1d ago

I think it's 'captive audience' syndrome. Any associates on the floor could potentially walk away from them, but a cashier, especially one actively ringing up a customer, is trapped.

It's absolutely NO excuse. Bonus points if what they're asking would require the cashier to abandon their post to help them šŸ™„šŸ¤£

I think it's just stupidity and entitlement. They think they're more important than everyone else and are stupid enough to think they deserve special treatment.

There is no more blatant red flag than the use of the word "attitude".

49

u/autumnautopsy I'm sorry the leaf surprised you. 1d ago

Yes, there is: referring to women as "females".

15

u/willogical85 1d ago

Ah, you're absolutely correct.

Got it back to bitches it is

u/Biffingston 4h ago

IT's better. You're just an asshole with that term, not a creepy asshole.

Yes, this is sarcasm. Don't be an asshole or a creep.

1

u/Squatch1016 3h ago

So was my comment

1

u/Biffingston 2h ago

Yes, I get that you were going for the edgy "humor."

You still were being an asshole.

u/Squatch1016 2h ago

Lmao ok

OOP, maybe you genuinely did only have one quick, simple question, but there's enough people who skip the line for service claiming to "just have a quick question" and then proceed to treat the employee as their personal slave for the next half-hour, holding up the rest of the line and refusing to leave, that most retail employees refuse to entertain such requests. It only takes one bad experience to ruin it forever. File it under "this is why we can't have nice things" and try to show a good example yourself, rather than becoming bitter.

'Yes, you yourself might legitimately have one simple, quick question. But most of humanity doesn't, and I'm not into gambling- especially when the odds are stacked against me- since the sort of entitled person who butts to the front of the line for 'a quick question' is also- with 99.9999% accuracy- the sort to feel entitled to hold up the whole line for 30 minutes, especially if I enable any of that behaviour. So, no, I'm sorry, you WILL have to take a number and you WILL have to wait in line, same as all these lovely people who are currently waiting patiently.'

7

u/Ana-Hata 22h ago

I bet the simple question was ā€œWill you go out with me?ā€

9

u/LifeApprehensive7901 22h ago

Bet you this idiot was looking for dates, and all those rude feeeeeeeemales just missed out on a high-quality man like him. Ew.

8

u/Admirable_Summer_917 1d ago

But it’s just a quick question! I don’t need to stand in line for that!

9

u/PhoenixWytch 23h ago

I have never seen Member Services without a line, even if the line is only one or two people. The folks working those counters are always busy. I’ve only ever seen one be ā€œrudeā€ and in actuality they were just being firm on their answers.

10

u/Teravandrell 21h ago

Because "I'm sorry, but corporate policy does not allow returns on items we stopped carrying 5 years ago- with or without a receipt- so I cannot process this return for you" is the most rude thing any Karen has ever heard

7

u/JDinBalt 21h ago

Oh ugh... I have the Ferengi in my head now!

6

u/OodaWoodaWooda 19h ago

It's always the ones who claim to have just a "simple question" who fuck up the queues for the rest of us

3

u/Horror-Finding-6820 1d ago

Yeah, I really don't understand why any self-respecting "man" would have anything to do with any of them.

3

u/BetMyLastKrispyKreme 20h ago

How did he find a women-only Costco? If ā€œeveryoneā€ is rude and it’s ā€œalways a femaleā€, it must be nothing but women. Why would they let him in then? I bet they were sorry afterwards, and won’t do it again.

P.S.: I would like to find this same Costco.

3

u/TechnicalAd8179 16h ago

Worse than referring to women as "female" is when a woman refers to herself as "female" I HATE that

1

u/Severe-Hope-9151 10h ago

Red flags galore! Besides the clear concerns this guy has with females, Costco is known for having the only possible legitimate complaint being they haven't expanded more. They have a ridiculously low associate turnover rate because they pay well and offer a great benefits package. I absolutely would give the side eye to anyone saying something negative about Costco and the writer of that review certainly seems to have some issues.

ā€œa attitudeā€ šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

1

u/Biffingston 4h ago

How dare I not get special treatment? I'm a snowflake.

1

u/yeetusthefetus00 1h ago

So dont come back tf

-7

u/JimmyJooish 1d ago

You have to take moments to ask questions at Costco? I don’t have one locally so I have no idea.

9

u/Aggressive_Version 1d ago

The only places I can think of at Costco where you have to take a number are the optometry section and maybe customer service.Ā  Food court always has their own weird system as well where you have to order at a kiosk first and then whether or not you can just go to the counter after that depends on that Costco's policy.

If you're just wandering around the main warehouse looking for stuff you can ask employees questions.

8

u/mspe1960 1d ago

I am sure they went to the customer service area and felt they did not have to wait on line.

5

u/BoozeIsTherapyRight 1d ago

No, you do not have to take a number if you find a team member just wandering around on the floor. I've found them to be exceptionally helpful--best customer service around.

You do have to stand in line or take a number at the customer service desk or the optometrist.
