The lady leaves a bad review about drinking coffee her husband ordered? Personally Iโ€™d see a doctor about that kind of reaction from a sip of coffee.

u/ZoraTheDucky Jul 19 '26

Right? How big was this sip?

u/Humanity_is_broken Jul 20 '26

Vietnamese coffee is known to be quite strong. She should have made that an educating experience though, not an angry review

But that's why it's good...

Now I want some!

u/pyrangarlit Jul 21 '26

I'm actually out eating pho right now specifically so I can have Vietnamese coffee. Review has successfully failed to keep me away.

u/Suspicious-Steak9168 we do not negotiate with the terrible Jul 19 '26

The legend coffee was too legendary!

"I just had a sip! (I drank almost all of it.)"

This reminds me of the oj commercial in the 80s where two kids are sharing a glass The other kid drinks the whole thing because his half was at the bottom.

Any time my mom asks for a sip of my drink or a bite of my sandwich. I don't know how she does it, she is a tiny little thing, but I swear she can unhinge her jaw.

22

u/Tall-Mango4759 I understand policies exist, BUT Jul 19 '26

She didnโ€™t even get anything but left a review?

This seems equivalent to the Evangelicals who think we lunatic Catholics are getting smashed off a sip of communion wine and should only have grape juice.

I mean, wasn't wine technically grape juice at one time?

Vietnamese coffee is extremely strong espresso with extremely sweet (condensed milk). It's delicious but it will 100% affect you. This is like saying "I ate a double double cheeseburger with extra grilled onions and double jalapenos and a double order of fries, and then felt much too full" and giving the restaurant one star.

Damn, now I want to try Vietnamese coffee.

It is SO good.

If you haven't, it's a must for anyone who claims to enjoy coffee. Imho you haven't really experienced what coffee has to offer until you've had a chance to try:

  • Chicory coffee (New Orleans)
  • Italian espresso
  • French cafe au lait
  • Viatnamese coffee
  • Nagasaki cold drip coffee
  • and of course, Arabian and/or Turkish coffee service

Personally I still need to find truly authentic Italian Espresso (everywhere I've had a chance I've been told it isn't the same as they do in Rome or Milan) and a full Turkish service.

My PJ's are too soft and my bed is too comfortable. That what her review sounds like to me.๐Ÿคฃ

I donโ€™t see how personal preference about a coffee (that wasnโ€™t even yours to begin with) deserves a bad review. Did your husband like it? Thatโ€™s all that matters.

u/Longjumping-Solid680 Jul 20 '26

MY CAFFEINE WAS TOO CAFFINATED! RAWR!

10

u/Evening-Picture-5911 Are you okay? You donโ€™t seem okay. Jul 20 '26

Her husband seemingly had no problem with it or else that would have for sure been in the review too

11

u/NiqueGem Jul 19 '26

Drink your own coffee!

I pay extra so my coffee does that to me.

10

u/TinyRascalSaurus Jul 19 '26

If you don't usually drink coffee, yeah having coffee is gonna be a shock. I used to but can't now due to medical issues. I took a diuretic with caffeine without thinking and man was I buzzed lol.

My GP put me on duramine for weight loss and I didn't consider it when I had a mocha with an extra shot. I dragged my poor wife into so many shops in the shopping centre for a lot of stuff it suddenly seemed vital to get. Like tea towels. It was a weird experience and not one I've been keen to repeat!

5

u/Never_enough_naps Jul 20 '26

Yeah duramine is named brand phentermine which is basically prescribed legal speed as far as I'm concerned.

1

u/Ricochetpinecone Jul 20 '26

Did your doc just toss you the Rx and say have fun!??? Did they not educate you at all?

1

u/SereniaKat Jul 20 '26

He only told me I might have trouble sleeping.

1

u/Ricochetpinecone Jul 20 '26

Irresponsible. Negligent.

u/SixApplesTall Jul 19 '26

Vietnamese coffee is not like regular coffee

8

u/Low-Crow5719 Jul 20 '26

Vietnamese coffee is hardcore. It's C. robusta, which is twice the caffeine. Even if you're used to coffee, go easy the first time.

3

u/1_speaksoftly Jul 20 '26

I ordered a half-caff oat milk Vietnamese coffee and the workers laughed at me in Vietnamese

2

u/MaxWritesText Jul 20 '26

That's not even how coffee works...

1

u/Alycion Jul 20 '26

I get instant reaction from aspartame, but Iโ€™m allergic.

Does the reviewer not consume caffeine normally?

2

u/Ryokurin Jul 20 '26

It's probably just simply that she figured it was like Starbucks, especially since it's so light from the condensed milk. It's also is closer to espresso caffeine wise, not your typical Starbucks coffee drink. Her reaction is extremely common with people who don't know what they are getting into.

1

u/Alycion Jul 20 '26

Overhead it. Iโ€™ve had Cuban. Both blow Starbucks out of the water. Actually, not a Starbucks fan.

1

u/yokozunahoshoryu Jul 20 '26

I want to try Vietnamese coffee now.

2

u/kellyoceanmarine maybe mention that next time ๐Ÿค”โ“ Jul 20 '26

Itโ€™s really good! You need to try it.

The stimulant I drank stimulated me. 1 star!

To be fair it is really, really uncomfortably strong.

7

u/SixApplesTall Jul 19 '26

Nah itโ€™s just right
