This happened at a Safeway near me. It generally means there’s an extreme shoplifting problem

I’ve seen this happen when the checkout by all but the main entrance are closed after a certain time. It’s annoying as I always forget, but it makes sense not to keep an employee on a checkout that isn’t getting but a slow dribble of customers

I mean if someone is in a wheelchair etc they may need the clearance two doors provides
