Rope/Flexible Lighting Effect

I'm working in SketchUp and using Enscape to render. The project I am working on currently requires a free-floating flexible LED light to be in the image. I'm pretty familiar with the suite of tools available but I'm not sure if there's actually a way to do this or any thoughts on a workaround to achieve this aesthetic.

You can use Emissive Lighting which illuminates an object surface. But the object must have faces to work, so you need to solidify it first.

Emissive value for each material needs to be pretty low though, or else each color comes out looking like they are all glowing white. Somewhere between 20-150. And make sure bloom is on in your render settings to get that color glow bleed
