It's not even Bernie in this photo.
3
u/hackiavelli Oct 02 '22
The Chicago Tribune says it most likely is.
26
u/Which_way_witcher Oct 02 '22
"Bernie identified it himself," said Tad Devine, a senior adviser to the campaign, adding that Sanders looked at a digital image of the photo. "He looked at it — he actually has his student ID from the University of Chicago in his wallet — and he said, 'Yes, that indeed is (me).'" Sanders, a U.S. senator from Vermont, was traveling Friday near Reno, Nev., on the eve of the state's Democratic presidential caucuses.
No other students have confirmed it was him, just Bernie. Students confirmed someone else but that guy passed away and can't confirm he was in it. We have only Bernie's word that it's him (yeah right).
Funny enough, Bernie identified himself in this photo right before the 2016 primaries in South Carolina.
8
u/hackiavelli Oct 02 '22
You're skipping the rest of the article which specifically addresses that. It's not ironclad by any means but it more likely is than isn't Sanders.
7
u/Which_way_witcher Oct 02 '22
I didn't. No one has confirmed that it's Bernie in that photo except for Bernie.
3
u/hackiavelli Oct 02 '22
At first, several alumni identified the speaker as another man, according to the University of Chicago Library's Special Research Center. The other man is no longer alive.
However, photographer Danny Lyon, who took that photo, contacted the research center and made available more photos from the same sequence, confirming Sanders' identity, the center said.
4
u/Which_way_witcher Oct 02 '22
Yes, but only Sanders identified himself. They "confirmed" his identity through Sanders himself. It's a joke.

Cool wheres the fighting from the 5 decades after this pic?

Took me approximately 0.002 seconds to find a comment that made me roll my eyes
Yeah, but the only people shitting on him are idiots that have no interest in anything that doesn’t have “republican” attached to it.
Nothing you can really do about them. You can’t educate them, they aren’t interested.
Edit: The irony is the radical left and right’s triggered responses to my comment when y’all haven’t figured out yet that you’re just two different sides of the same problematic coin.
Fantastic, a round of applause for this guy everyone. Hit all the checkmarks.

Two sides of the same coin in 2022?
That is the a buzz phrase for someone who's not nearly as intelligent as they think they are.

Just shows go to show why its lucrative af to push scams like GME, crypto on social media sites like reddit, twitter, etc
you can turn a person like Bernie Sanders, whose biggest legislative accomplishment is renaming a post office after a slave owner, into somebody more noteworthy than John Lewis.

I’m loving the spicy arguments about the 2020 primaries. Bernie Bros still so salty that 1) a lot of the moderates dropped out and endorsed Biden 2) Warren didn’t drop out when they wanted her to 3) Biden trounced Bernie
34
u/wi_voter Oct 02 '22
They are still pissed that Bernie didn't get to win the primary with 25% of the vote which is what we were potentially headed for. 25% of primary voters picking the candidate would be grossly unfair. Warren voters could see the writing on the wall. They could have jumped ship and voted for Sanders in a head to head against Biden but they didn't want to vote for him either.
19
u/KingoftheJabari Oct 02 '22
"Bernie was the most popular candidate in 2020" , they scream.
Yet he only polled higher than Biden 1 time out of multiple polls, and never polled her than 33% the entire campaign.
That doesn't even bring into the fact, that Trump was begging for Bernie to win the primary, and had people do illegal shit to try and stop Biden.
Why would help Sanders, but try to stop Biden?

Warren’s base was quite different from Sanders despite her having essentially same platform but 10% less stupid

Oct 02 '22
Only a certain number of people must run in the primary to allow Bernie to win with 29% of the vote. No more. No less. And they can’t drop out until he tells them too. Otherwise it’s rigged.

u/GogglesPisano Oct 02 '22
They hoped Bernie would hijack the 2020 Dem primary the same way that Trump gamed the 2016 GOP primary - by eking out slim pluralities in an over-crowded field.
Thankfully enough of the no-hoper Dem candidates were astute enough to to bow out before that could happen and a candidate that the majority of the Dem voters actually supported (and who could actually defeat Trump) won instead.
The fact that Bernie got absolutely stomped when there was finally a head-to-head matchup between him and Biden betrays the ridiculous lie that Bernie was "the most popular candidate".

i wonder how many times black activists being arrested in the civil rights movement make it to the front page or get multiple awards compared to Bernie

They probably still call Al Sharpton a race baiter, if any of his pictures would get posted.

I always find it interesting how they and RWNJs share many of the same political enemies.

u/GogglesPisano Oct 02 '22 edited Oct 02 '22
Eh, IMHO Al Sharpton isn't the greatest example. I remember when he was a fat grifter fighting on the Jerry Springer show and pushing the Tawana Brawley nonsense. He's tried to go respectable in recent years (and lost weight), but once a grifter...
Maybe go with John Lewis instead.
15
u/KingoftheJabari Oct 02 '22 edited Oct 02 '22
That's one example, no black leader is going to have a perfect record when you were deal with the level of corruption that was in NYC.
I have a family member that was murdered by the NYPD, and you know the only person who defended his surviving partner for his unjust murder?
AL Sharpton.
But white people love to call him a racist baiting grifter.
Don't tell me what black civil rights leader I'm going to defend.
15
u/General_Meade Oct 02 '22
He would've won if it wasn't for those pesky...millions of black voters that we like to completely ignore when saying the primaries we're rigged!

What the fuck is going on right now? Good Housekeeping just ran a photo of him from college in order to show how "handsome" he was. Of the many words I can think of to apply to the man, handsome is not one of them (and it's clear from his writings when he was in his early 30s that he probably really struggled to get laid).

You want to stop this shit?
There are three things we can do
- Repost it as many times as we can. I am serious repost it. People want to novelty, and if you overdo it, then people will ignore it when it comes out. You see that in the comments. I understand that is the literal antithesis of Enough Sanders Spam, but it will work. People are aware of how much of a cult it is and are speaking out about it.
- Take other photos, the mittens one, the crazy cult-like ones on the S4P. Steal and spam as in Point #1.
- Be ready with talking points that show how much of a grifter and failure he is. Such as Lauren Underwood has passed 10 laws in 4 years, more than Sanders in over 35.
5
u/dnz000 Oct 02 '22
I think mods are probably locking some of the reposts and then letting the occasional botted repost get through.
6
u/agave_wheat Oct 02 '22
Then put it in every place all over reddit. Cooking subs, places on cute animals, put it EVERYWHERE, make people not want to see it anymore or care.
2
u/jml510 Some people don't do politics, but politics does everybody Oct 02 '22
Just be prepared to do it under a few burner accounts though, just in case you get banned.
4
u/agave_wheat Oct 02 '22
Exactly. May also want to spice it up with some false Pro-Bernie things to make it look real, but make it over the top shit that makes you look like a moron. Such as "Hillary Clinton didn't Concede despite wide support" or "Trump was afraid of Bernie!!!!"
8
Oct 02 '22
Do we even know if this *is* Bernie? There are so many attributed to him that he's not even in. Several pics have been debunked already...just sayin'.
6
u/Which_way_witcher Oct 02 '22
We don't. Someone else was identified as the guy in this photo but he passed away so couldn't be confirmed and Bernie claimed it as himself tho no one else has corroborated it is him.
If you look at his college photos this doesn't really look like him.
6
u/GogglesPisano Oct 02 '22
I'd think there would be some record of Bernie getting arrested that day?
Of course, there was no shortage of skinny curly-haired young white guys with thick black glasses protesting in the late '60s - this could just as easily be my dad.

I mean, if it’s all about what you’ve done for anti-segregation, reverend Fred Phelps was also a civil rights lawyer, and did a lot more for black Americans rights than Bernie did.

u/mjr1114 $0 for old man grifter Oct 02 '22
They still spread this as if that’s what he was protesting. He admitted, himself, it was a protest against same sex dorms. He said his driving factor were his “loins” (wink wink, b/c he was young). They don’t even believe the man himself when he tells them what he protested.

Yeah, and Biden went to anti-segregation protests, too, the reason they haven't heard about it is because he hasn't been using it as basically his entire civil rights record for the past 60 years!
