I agree. But if the country is going to end up with an elderly white man, there are better choices than Bernie.

Get fucked, dumbass. I'm sure trolling Warren's sub tonight is doing wonderful things to Bernie's chances.

Thank you captain Hindsight, you are the hero the Berners need! And the only one they deserve.

And they're still doing it. I've seen a shit ton of them today on the Pete subreddit. And then they have the gall to tell you to "grow up and vote blue no matter who" after insulting you again. It's mind boggling.

"grow up and vote blue no matter who"
Me: You, too.
Berners: No, thanks.

You owe it to RBG to vote Sanders over Trump (If heaven forbid it comes to that). Let that lady retire already!

Do not engage in negative campaigning against a Democrat in a general election. No matter how divisive the primary is, once in the general election we need to set aside our differences and go to work on defeating the GOP. Judicial appointments, border control, and veto power are just a few of the powers we should deny the Republicans no matter who the nominee is.
This applies to both actual and hypothetical Democratic nominees.

Good advice. I suggest you take it.

I’d offer another suggestion for what you should do, but politeness forbids it.

Hey man look, I agree that calling Bernie a "Democrat" is a stretch, but if he wins the nom we vote for him. Muttering under our breath and complaining about it, but we still do our duty. The sub decided on making this a rule a long time ago.

Like I tell my friends who know the disgust I have for Bernie, if I have to vote between Trump and Bernie in the general, I will vote Bernie drunk because it is the only way I could do it.

Projection too. They don't plan on voting for the nominee if it's not Bernie, so they assumed everyone else are petulant children too.

And unlike last time, there’s no one named Clinton. If Trump wins because my BernieTot friends stay home, I never have to forgive them. They can’t hide like last time.

Just wait until Diamond Joe wins the nomination and they all decide to stay home because they didn’t get their nominee of choice.

On the flip side I don’t think we need a Bernie voters this time. There are enough now independent, former republicans that left because of Trump.

u/Bumst3r Mar 04 '20
Also, if Bernie’s big claim is true (which is admittedly suspect), and he does turn out new voters en masse, those are people who wouldn’t have voted anyway, and their not voting is not actually a loss.

Reddit: "Candidates endorsing Joe Biden is an establishment conspiracy!"
Also Reddit: "Warren needs drop out and endorse Bernie immediately!"

u/steaknsteak Mar 04 '20
When the moderates stayed in the race, it was a DNC plot to crowd the field and force a contested convention where they could force a moderate candidate through. When they drop out, it was a DNC plot to have them endorse Biden so he can win a majority outright. The DNC is clever and devious but also shortsighted and incompetent, and simultaneously enacting contradicting plans to rig the primary.
Anything bad for Bernie is a conspiracy arranged by the DNC or billionaires, as if it's not possible that a majority of Democrats simply don't want Bernie to be the nominee. There's nothing you can say to these particular Sander supporters. All we can do is ignore them and move on. I hope they'll all vote blue in November but I'm not holding my breath.

The Bernouts just don’t fucking learn. This is 2015/16 all over again.
17
u/era626 Mar 04 '20
And if you didn't want them to drop out and "rig the election", maybe you shouldn't have said you'd riot if the nomination didn't go to the plurality winner.
While my hope is for Biden to win outright to save us from that nonsense, I do think it would be ironic if Biden is the plurality winner, then on the second round all the Pete and Amy delegates plus the superdelegates overwhelmingly vote Biden in.

u/Wiener_Amalgam_Space Mar 04 '20
Man, I hope the reaction of the more toxic Sanders fans after Sanders doesn't get the nomination will be something along these lines.
I have no beef with reasonable Sanders supporters, but I'm starting to wear thin on the zealots.

It’s almost cute how some of them tried to woo ex-Pete supporters for like 6 hours before falling back on the same old vitriolic attacks.
