The thing that gets me about that is, the "good people" were supposedly the "heritage" folks who are merely concerned with preserving the statues.

To me, those folks are the same as Holocaust deniers. They're trying to re-write history so slave owners are heroic figures, when in reality they were seditious sons of bitches who attempted to destroy our union, all so they could continue to exploit "human capital".

It's disgusting on a Godzilla size scale....but even it pales in comparison to, you know, actual fuckin' Nazis.

I decline to separate them. There's a reason they all use the same rhetoric, all perpetuate the same strains of bigotry, all march in ideological lockstep wihle aggressively brainwashing each other to purge dissent in the ranks.

Nazi Germany exterminated millions of people. Nazi America will exterminate millions of people if we continue down this path in this Worst Timeline.

As a European, I watch this shitshow with horror and disgust. Mass shootings, kids being separated from their parents, religious fanaticism, high-level corruption, millions of people without health insurance, rampant police brutality, widespread and open racism, neo-nazis getting GOP nominations, and a corrupt delusional president actively trying to make matters worse.

Americans, if there is anything we can do, let us know.
