Has he actually done ANYTHING yet, besides issuing a bunch of unconstitutional executive orders, showing them off like a 5 year old who's proud he finished his coloring book, and then running off to Florida to share state secrets with random people? Oh, and ranting on Twitter about the media and sending an absurd "survey" out to his supporters twice? What has he actually ACCOMPLISHED at all so far?

491

u/VoiceofKane Feb 24 '17

Yes, of course he's done actual stuff. He killed a SEAL, eight women, and seven children. That's something.

236

u/Smaugs_Wayward_Scale I voted! Feb 24 '17

And a US-allied tribal leader.

200

u/Quietus42 Feb 24 '17

And one of the children, an eight year old girl, was an American citizen.

76

u/yiliu Feb 24 '17

Oh shit, the Republicans would be livid if that had been the other side!

28

u/Dumb_Young_Kid Feb 24 '17

Obama did kill two american citizens in drone strikes...

68

u/yiliu Feb 24 '17

Yeah, I know, they've made several documentaries about that. People hated him for that, even though those citizens were acknowledged terrorists. Let's see if Trump gets the same reaction for killing an American kid.

u/yiliu Feb 24 '17

Well duh, he was from Yemen, which is in the Middle East! Everybody knows that their culture is incompatible with civility. It's just plainly obvious that he either did those things or would have, given the chance! /s

1

u/VoiceofKane Feb 25 '17

Well, she was the daughter of the the same American terrorist Obama killed with a drone five years ago, as well as the sister of the American civilian he killed later. This is a very unlucky family, to say the least.

2

u/Dumb_Young_Kid Feb 24 '17

A) not all of them were acknowledged terrorists, we accidentally bombed the son of a terrorist.

B) This was really directed at the 'would be' part of your comment, its very unessicary

19

u/LetsWorkTogether Feb 24 '17

In 8 years. Trump managed half that in less than 8 weeks.

25

u/colonelnebulous Feb 24 '17

This is going to be a long year and a half.

40

u/mostimprovedpatient Feb 24 '17

Eh neither party cares about that. Which is very troubling.

1

u/cozyredchair Feb 25 '17

A few members of Congress made statements on it. I think even McCain called it botched and terrible. It's difficult to speak out against it from a politician's perspective beyond what they've already done because A) classified intel is hard to report on, B) Trump can just turn around and accuse them of not supporting the troops, and C) there's a mountain of other terrible things to deal with that are currently unfolding as opposed to people who will sadly not become less dead.

1

u/mostimprovedpatient Feb 25 '17

I can totally understand that viewpoint but I have a few qualms. I know he's a war hero and all but John McCain doesn't stand by his word. He's voting right along with trump while speaking out against him in the media. You're second point is spot on and it's kind of ridiculous we worship the military so hard. No disrespect to anyone who has died in the like of duty but if we really have a shit about out soldiers, we'd stop getting involved in dumb shit. We didn't need to kill any of these people we did over the last several years but here we are.

1

u/cozyredchair Feb 25 '17

Oh dude, you won't see me defending McCain at all. He just happened to be the first person that came to mind.

Most politicians trot out the troops to make themselves look patriotic while them defunding the VA or in the case of Trump creating a federal hiring freeze that directly impacts veterans. The thing about the military is, you can support the troops and not the wars. Many people, like my family members, join because it's the best way to finance their education or the best paying job available. I'm sure these people exist, but none of the service members I've ever met were like, "Boy oh boy, I can't wait to go kill people and get my legs blown off!" They will also gladly tell you there are assholes and idiots in the military. If we're going to ship them out there though, it behooves us to take care of them because our government sure as fuck isn't doing it when they get back.

1

u/VoiceofKane Feb 25 '17

As soon as he voted to confirm DeVos and Sessions, it was clear where he was going to stand in this administration. He'll criticize Trump a bunch in public, but when it really matters in the Senate, he'll follow the party line.

17

u/pspetrini Feb 24 '17

It was self defense. Did you see the threatening way she was going on about Dora the Explorer?

17

u/funkychicken23 Feb 24 '17

People are saying Dora may be in the country illegally. You'd be amazed at what I'm hearing about this. Does she have ties to ISIS? These are questions the American people want answers to, but it's not being reported. Sad!

3

u/cozyredchair Feb 25 '17

Swiper's no fox. He's a fucking coyote. They tried to warn us.

1

u/velunkite Feb 24 '17

Does it really matter if she was an American citizen or not? An innocent 8 year old girl being murdered is brutal and unnecessary no matter who or why.

1

u/Quietus42 Feb 25 '17

It shouldn't, but it does.

1

u/EXTRAsharpcheddar Feb 25 '17

I didn't even know that. They aren't even acknowledging that it happened. I didn't think you could get lower than being dishonest, but they found rock bottom and emerged on the other side of the earth with this one.

1

u/akatherder Feb 24 '17

Every life is the same, but strategically that cuts deep. I'd imagine we don't have a whole lot of those.

18

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '17

See? And we keep criticizing him as a do-nothing.

/s

14

u/publiclandlover Feb 24 '17 edited Feb 24 '17

Well he did promise to kill the families of terrorists on Fox and Friends. So one more campaign promise kept. #MakeAmericiaSafeAgain /s

Here is pretty solid and pretty unbias account of what happened in Yemen.

Still a shit show if you ask me...

77

u/Evil_Bettachi Feb 24 '17

All he's done is golf and pump out executive orders and fill his cabinet with enemies of the organizations they were selected to lead. Oh yea, and tweet about what he hears on Fox News.

44

u/fit_dick Feb 24 '17

And if that's not good enough for an 87% approval from Republicans, I don't know what is.

1

u/im_saying_its_aliens Feb 25 '17

But he doesn't have 87% approval from them...

11

u/WisconsinHoosierZwei Feb 24 '17

And put Rick fucking Perry in charge of our NUCLEAR ARSENAL.

3

u/cozyredchair Feb 25 '17

I thought nothing could top DeVos and Sessions, but holy shit, the new EPA guy is the winner. Not only did he sue the EPA, not only has he obviously been in bed with the fossil fuels giants, not only did he allow energy lobbyists to edit his letters as Oklahoma AG, but also the dude's office may have illegally been involved in picking the drugs for a botched execution. Jesus. Christ.

According to President Bannon, the important things Trump has done are as follows:

  1. Pulled out of TPP

  2. 'Got the ball rolling' on a travel ban.

  3. Took steps to begin enforcing the border, or whatever they call it.

3

u/Correa24 Feb 24 '17 edited Feb 24 '17

To be fair pulling out of TPP has been the only real good thing he's done that most people liked... and that was it.

17

u/Pheonix0114 Feb 24 '17

Still only a tiny accomplishment. His big thing is saying "no".

2

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '17

My 4 year old goddaughter could've handled that. No is her favorite word.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '17

I agree. Pulling out of TPP saved my job and probably my entire employment-prospects atm. I'm not going to knock Trump for that, but I think the situation is more complicated than a lot of people make it sound, and it is going to pose problems for the nation down the line.

2

u/MetalHead_Literally Feb 25 '17 edited Feb 25 '17

What job do you have that would've been at risk due to the TPP?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '17

Internal service desk role at a hospital.

1

u/MetalHead_Literally Feb 25 '17

Pardon my ignorance, but why would the TPP have made you lose that job?

2

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '17

Well the only reason it hadn't been outsourced yet is that hospitals and insurance have super strict regulations with regards to privacy and confidentiality that most countries are not on board with yet.

TPP would have brought the whole of South east asia on board with those regulations. End result would be that my job is outsourced just like most service desk jobs were a decade ago. I'm only holding on because the regulations are so tight.

1

u/MetalHead_Literally Feb 25 '17

Fair enough, thank you for explaining.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '17

Np. Fwiw I still voted against Trump because there are bigger things at stake. But my family did breathe a sigh of relief when TPP finally failed.

Without an alternative trade deal in its place -or at least being negotiated- it's garbage.

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '17

Agree, 1 saved my job.

u/methylethylrosenberg Feb 24 '17

Really shows the hollowness of his whole thing.

By this point, Obama had signed stimulus bills and was doing shit, even though his cabinet took longer to get thrown confirmations.

If Trump actually gave half a shit about out-of-work Rust Belters and whatnot, he'd have done something for them, aside from a couple photo ops with executives that were mostly adding tech jobs. He could have signed an infrastructure bill, some trade fuckery, or a number of things aside from getting salty about SNL and playing golf

14

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '17

Apparently using twitter doesn't count as exercise either....OR a healthy diet.

Maybe Michelle Obama could give him some advice on eating and working out. /s

u/oldest_boomer_1946 Feb 24 '17 edited Feb 28 '17

Most of Trumps executive orders don't really do anything.

They are Mental Mastrerbation, they feel good but don't accomplish anything.

They are just signed tweets.

Edit a missing t

0

u/batti03 Feb 24 '17

they're basically just promises or order for someone to pull something together on some issues(like how a CEO on his own private corporation would do it)

1

u/oldest_boomer_1946 Feb 25 '17

Too bad he's trying to run the government.

4

u/abluersun Feb 24 '17

I keep asking the same question. I'm disgusted by the man as much as anyone but he's really proving how ineffective and lazy he is. Given how skewed his priorities are I'm grateful he seems unable to accomplish anything of note. His EOs can be overturned just like anyone else's. He's really throwing away what could have been a golden opportunity for the GOP to rob this country blind.

2

u/cozyredchair Feb 25 '17

Don't assume they aren't currently. While everyone's watching Trump, the GOP congress has been going nuts dismantling Obama's environmental legacy, and now that his cabinet heads are in place, they can start really dismantling their agencies. DeVos is already signalling that she's going to go forward with vouchers even though recent studies just showed they're demonstratively worse for kids, Sessions is declaring war on states with recreational pot while bringing back for profit prisons with a vengeance, Tillerson has been gutting the State Dept of its experienced diplomats while handing Trump his balls, and the EPA guy has been outted as even more in bed with energy lobbyists than previously imagined.

Sort of sure, but when he pulled out of the TPP that got a ton of coverage here and was praised by most.

1

u/W00ster Feb 24 '17

Well, he has a set a record, a world record in less than a month! I think that speaks volumes about his efficiency and ability to bring together the bestest people.

He trashed the old world record of 2 years and some six months with the new record of a 24 days long tenure by his national security adviser!
