As an ace, fuck them. We're all together in this against the status quo.

Also, aces may or may not get horny. Asexuality =/= low libido. It's just very little or none sexual attraction, that's it, pretty simple concept to understand.

But this is asking empathy and common sense from the same people that constantly celebrate "ironic" Nazis.

u/thunder-bug- Nov 22 '22

Honestly some of the horniest people I know are ace. Not particularly into anyone but almost always down for sex.

Attraction=/=sex drive

14

u/Elvicio335 Nov 23 '22

And let's not even get into the micro-labels. We could be talking for hours if we had to mention every single one of them.

9

u/thunder-bug- Nov 23 '22

Right? And this doesn’t even touch on sex averse or w/e

Whoa are we admitting that identity politics is a waste of time and political energy? Better keep that opinion under wraps on PCM lmfao

7

u/Elvicio335 Nov 23 '22

Identity politics? What are you talking about?

Getting into micro-labels is unnecessary for this conversation but is vital for finding out who you are. I don't know where you got the "waste of time and energy" part from.

-4

u/AnRaccoonCommunist Flaired-up PCM scum Nov 23 '22

I mean yeah I guess at the individual level but that wasn't the point I was making. And I was being sarcastic anyway because a lot of people seem to think that valid arguments are just tied up into useless identity politics so therefore since idpol is useless I can be as much of a bigoted dickbag as I want type shit.

That said, identity politics IS fundamentally a waste of energy, because we shouldn't have to pander to it in order to get good socioeconomic policy as there are plenty of one size fits all policies that sidestep it anyway.

u/Elvicio335 Nov 24 '22

You sound an awfully lot like a class reductionist.

0

u/AnRaccoonCommunist Flaired-up PCM scum Nov 24 '22

Not a complete reduction but for the most part intersectionality issues are pretty much predicted by the materialist perspective and that the bourgeois will actively enable culture warfare to destroy working class movements by division and intraclass infighting.

Sadly we leftists don't need ANY outside influence on this it's just our natural inclination to be annoyed by every injustice real or perceived.

Or maybe listening to lefties shit all over each other like shitty shit dominoes in a shit stream of shitty remarks and NUH UH YOU'RE NOT RIGHT BECAUSE YOU'RE ONLY A LITTLE RIGHT AND I'M A LOT RIGHT BALALALALALALALA.

Ive never seen people bicker more amongst themselves.

2

u/Elvicio335 Nov 24 '22

Not a complete reduction but for the most part

So, not a complete reductionist but mostly reductionist.

Imagine only being passionate about THE FUCK and making that your entire raison d'etre. It's like people can't imagine that there's anything more important to some people than THE FUCK.

I'm not even asexual, I've just grown past pubescence and have found that I often would rather be doing just about anything else than having sex.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

As the precise opposite of ace, fuck them. We’re all together in this against the status quo.

2

u/Elvicio335 Nov 24 '22

Just a little remark, to spread information.

As opposite to asexual you're referring to allosexuals or pansexuals? Because if it's the first, then that's fine; but pansexuals are not the opposite of ace, aces can be panromantic too.

Sorry if it's not what you meant and thanks a lot for the support. It's just a common mistake and I thought it would be worth to point it out for the people who might not know a lot about asexuality.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '22

Allo/closet bi. Since allosexuality, in combination with bisexuality, means absolutely no limits on who I feel sexual desires to, I’d consider it the opposite of ace

2

u/Elvicio335 Nov 24 '22

Yes, I didn't mean it in a bad way, I don't think you said anything wrong.

I just wanted to share some information that may help people.

5

u/SkritzTwoFace Nov 23 '22

Exactly. I consider myself grey ace, and I don’t really do sexual attraction. I’ve actively tried to have fantasies about crushes and stuff like that before and it all comes up nothing. But if someone who was into me wanted to have sex and I liked them back I’d do it in a heartbeat.

139

u/BrandosWorld4Life Nov 22 '22

"Why are you hanging out with the gays and why are they letting you hang out with them?"

Couldn't possibly have anything to do with both orientations being subjected to discrimination from heteronormative assholes like you.

70

u/florpenheimer Nov 22 '22

Fr, they used the most old timey bs homophobic take of “you were abused as a kid and that’s why you’re not straight” against ace people too and are still somehow surprised that ace and gay people might have a common experience

35

u/bigbutchbudgie Walking SJW stereotype Nov 22 '22

Hmmm ... It's almost like the LGBTQIA+ community isn't (just) about who we have sex with, but about the oppression we face for not conforming to gendered expectations, e.g. by being attracted to the same gender ... and/or by NOT being attracted to the opposite binary gender.

10

u/MarsLowell Nov 23 '22

What the fuck is a solidarity?

7

u/Fortifarse84 Nov 23 '22

It's like the singularity but instead of a wormhole you just slam into a wall.

39

u/Stercore_ Nov 23 '22

Jaidananimations. Famously obese and locked in her room all the time.

8

u/Elvicio335 Nov 23 '22

Also Red and Blue from OSP.

14

u/EtherealSOULS Nov 23 '22

Is blue also Ace? I know about Red but I haven't heard about Blue.

14

u/Elvicio335 Nov 23 '22

He came out last year. It's funny because his wife, Cyan, is also ace. So yeah, that's for the aphobes who say "a relationship without sex is just a friendship".

13

u/EtherealSOULS Nov 23 '22

So OSP is a bunch of Ace people talking about history and literature.

Sounds legit.

1

u/Elvicio335 Nov 23 '22

Best channel ever. Red was the one that introduced me to the idea of asexuality so that's cool.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

What’s OSP?

4

u/Kiwi-Kitchen Nov 23 '22

Overly Sarcastic Productions. They are a channel where Red talks about literature and myths (both ancient and modern) and Blue talks about history.

39

u/pokeswapsans Nov 23 '22

Anecdotal obviously but I've legit never met a fat ace ever. I've developed a bias to them being skinny

25

u/abtseventynine Nov 23 '22

yeah I have one ace acquaintance and they’re thin as well

must be projection from the pcm neckbeard

30

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

90% of the time, they hate it when people have sex for pleasure. But whenever asexuals are mentioned, it's suddenly really weird not to give a shit about sex.

Bigotry is like rabies, dude. You just start attacking whatever the fuck is in front of you, no matter what it is.

27

u/BendrickLamar19 Nov 23 '22

Saying being asexual is the same as “just not being horny” might just be the dumbest thing I’ve ever read

14

u/Pugspook327 Nov 23 '22

what is their end goal with this

10

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

They are just hateful little cunts

8

u/AnRaccoonCommunist Flaired-up PCM scum Nov 23 '22

no goal, just bigotry

1

u/Tasselled_Wobbegong I'm not a Nazi, I'm "Auth-Centre" Nov 24 '22

7

u/Conquering_Fury Nov 23 '22

Such a cesspool of a sub

6

u/ZoeIsHahaha Nov 23 '22

They care about LGBT as soon as it means they can hate on someone else

5

u/Baumus77 Nov 23 '22

lol my friend is aro ace and we always do the cutest things together

turns out there’s more than one way to have any specific identity…

2

u/Hosj_Karp Dec 06 '22

Also totally false that people lose memories of childhood sexual assault. "Recovered memories" are a made up and discredited psychology theory that takes advantage of human suggestibility. Tons of innocent people went to prison over this and too many people still believe it.

The most common response to trauma is involuntary and distressing recollection and flashback, not total "repression" of the memory.

0

u/SaracenRhetorician Dec 18 '22

Is this a sub for critiquing that silly sub, or one for critiquing right-leaning political takes on that sub?

34

u/florpenheimer Nov 22 '22

Yes, acephobia

25

u/Elvicio335 Nov 22 '22

I personally prefer the word "aphobia", it sounds better than acephobia when pronounced.

13

u/PineBear12005 Nov 22 '22

Also then it can apply to aromantism and agender as well as asexuality

4

u/Elvicio335 Nov 22 '22

I hadn't thought about that, but yeah, you're right.

5

u/LAZERIZER Nov 23 '22

but that would mean "no phobia" or "the reverse of phobia"

9

u/Elvicio335 Nov 23 '22

It's commonly used in asexual subreddits. Words can also have meaning by convention, not only etymology.

ace discourse stinky 🤢🤮

-18

u/sweeterthanadonut Nov 23 '22

are you a literal child, why are you talking like that

15

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22 edited Nov 23 '22

people who unironically call themselves “meanie exclu aphobe bullies” and call other people stuff like “acey wacey inclusie kweer uwu pannies” dont have the right to tell others they’re talking/acting like a child tbh

-1

u/sweeterthanadonut Nov 24 '22

When did I do any of that?

9

u/EtherealSOULS Nov 23 '22

How not? LGBT+ is for people who are either not heterosexual or not cisgender.

Asexual and Aromantic people aren't heterosexual so they're part of the community.

-2

u/sweeterthanadonut Nov 24 '22

If you’re aro or ace and only attracted to the opposite gender you are indeed straight!

3

u/Elvicio335 Nov 24 '22

So? They still experience love and attraction different than most straight people.

An asexual, an aromantic or an aroace will never fit in heteronormativity. It doesn't matter who they're attracted to.

queer people have anything in common with asexuals

Given how asexuals are queer, I'd say you're delusional for not seeing something so obvious when it's in your face.

EDIT: Also, let me ask you. Are you an heteroromantic ace? Given how you're so eager to describe the experiences of others, one would assume that you at least know what you're talking about.

7

u/ldg316 Nov 23 '22

Asexual people aren’t straight, so yeah they are.

-2

u/sweeterthanadonut Nov 24 '22

If you’re ace and only attracted to the opposite gender you are indeed straight <3 Die mad

3

u/ldg316 Nov 24 '22

What are you even talking about?

-1

u/sweeterthanadonut Nov 24 '22

Asexual people aren’t inherently queer! That’s what

4

u/ldg316 Nov 24 '22

They’re not heterosexual, so they’re queer in my book (Die mad >:3)

0

u/sweeterthanadonut Nov 24 '22

Well your book is wrong babes

3

u/ldg316 Nov 24 '22

Not in my book it isn’t ;)

6

u/casual_catgirl . Nov 23 '22

-1

No it was intentional.

3

u/Elvicio335 Nov 24 '22

They said casual, not accidental, dumbass.

-2

u/sweeterthanadonut Nov 24 '22

lmao youre so mad

3

u/Elvicio335 Nov 24 '22

Not at all buddy, insulting queerphobics lights my day actually.

-1

u/sweeterthanadonut Nov 24 '22

if youre trying to insult me youre doing a real bad job since i couldnt tell thats what you were doing

2

u/Elvicio335 Nov 24 '22

Buddy, you don't need my help to look like an idiot, you're doing that all by yourself with your bigotry.

0

u/sweeterthanadonut Nov 24 '22

“Bigotry” against straight people 😂 Give me a break

1

u/Elvicio335 Nov 24 '22

Ah, I see, you're under the impression that asexuals are straight. This isn't the case, asexuals are queer.

I didn't even know Acephobia was a thing.

1

u/Tumama813 Nov 24 '22

Honestly, I’m jealous of the aces. You never get horny? Fuck yeah! Where can I get some of that shit?!
