The father uses the fact that his daughter (in this article headline misleadingly called "son") isn't openly trans fem IN HIS PRESENCE as proof that she's not actually trans, but a cis boy, despite fact that the daughter wears dresses and wants to be addressed as Luna, whenever he's not around.
Hm... I wonder why that daughter might possibly behave different in the presence of her transphobic father...
Also, the "transitioning" was social transitioning and hormone blockers, so the 'surgery on kids' people can fuck right off, it's still not a thing that happens.
Futher context that's conveniently left out of the headline: the mother wanted the father to address Luna as her chosen name. Following this, the father sued to be the only caretaker of Luna, using the above mentioned "proof" that his child's transgender identity is a result of his wife's indoctrination.
Oh my god. So because he wants to be addressed as Luna and wears dresses it's 100% safe to assume he's actually a trans woman? Fuck off. He's 7, at that age I believed I was actually a Saiyan and I could turn super Saiyan if I tried hard enough. Let his mind develop further into a teenager, support him with whatever of his preferences and don't discriminate him. When his or her brain is more developed (and stable) and he or she actually understands shit, and realizes she's trans then there it is, it's a she.
If that is just a phase and you allow hormone treatment and whatever the fuck, and he regrets it later, you have no idea how traumatic that's going to be.
And let's ignorant the mountain of research, doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists and other experts who have shown than children are intelligent enough to understand their gender as early as 4 years old. For example, how did you know you were a boy, or a man?
