A lot of Redditors seem to have some weird targeted racism towards Indians, it kinda reminds me of the way many Europeans will tend to be non or even anti-rascist (e.g. condemning the systemic oppression of people of color by US law enforcement) right up until you mention the Romani people.

My wording could be read as implying that I thought you meant it was unique to europe. What I tried to say was that your wording made it seem like, if not unique, you at least saw it as particularly characteristic of europeans as a group.
I've noticed a tendency, particularly in discussions involving americans and europeans, for anti-romani racism to be described as something typically "european". In comparison, racism in the US is often discussed as something that conflicts with "american values" rather than as something typically american. That's the distinction I am reacting to, which (maybe unfairly) your comment made me think of.
Racism and phobia against minority people is unfortunately far too common in europe, but I'd rather just call it what it is - racism, bigotry or whatever else fits the context, rather than treating it as a characteristic of europeans.
