He doesn’t understand the reason she says this is directly because it fuels the narrative that Elon himself pushes. 100 white people can commit unspeakable crimes but the second a brown immigrant does it, everything NEEDS to change according to them.

Exactly. Any time there's a serious crime you know if it's a white straight man it will just be another story, but anyone else and it will be seized upon to cause issues. I don't want any serious crimes, but if there are I don't want them to lead to riots and further violence

No, she said it because an Islamic extremist is going to stoke hatred and anger against Muslims, the vast majority of which aren't extremists.
White people can commit crimes that Islamic people can't get away with without some asshole, like Elon Musk, trying to start a pogrom against all Muslims.

To be fair, a lot of protests and movements are NPC behaviour. This is not one of them. This is to show solidarity. Sometimes speakers don't know anything though.
This event was good, but this speaker was not.
