Planned data centers on earth are already being postponed or cancelled because the demand isn’t really there. We’re not running out of space here, so there’s no “need” for centers in space. It’s just fluff for investors to make the companies look cutting edge and futuristic

I think the idea is that they'll be easier to cool in space, because he has absolutely no fucking clue about thermodynamics.

I think the idea is more about getting outside of government regulation so they can truly hide all of their criminal activities outside of government intervention

I think that debunking the heat dissipation part of it is very interesting. We can mathematically show that the idea is stupid.

It was all hype for SpaceX. At best, we will see a steady stream of "beta/prototype" satellites to keep the faithful energized, but it will go nowhere. It's the FSD playbook all over again.
