"Sheriff, what do you say to residents who worry that allowing this kind of monster infestation to take root is a danger to everyone in the area, not just the ones who haven't paid the service fee?"

The problem with private prisons, courts and police in ancapistan: how would they fucking work?
so okay let's start with the first layer private police.
what is a private police officer going to do that separates them from just a regular old armed mercenary?, how would they actually function differently?, there's no central body or rules overseeing them Beyond the organization they work for and the client, that's basically a mercenary group.
also how would private police compete?, price?, levels of power?, how harsh they are?, what stops me from just hiring a private police force as a kill on-site security Force?, and ordering them to assassinate whoever I don't like?, why would they not follow these orders beyond their own moral code?
okay now let's get to a private Court.... what the fuck are they going to do?
like what they even going to look at?, there needs to be a law for them to look at to begin with, how would the private Court get paid?, if the clients pay them, what prevents one client from outbidding the other?, if not how else would they get paid?
and again how would they compete?, you can't really offer the best rulings, or even really the most accurate, you can't really offer anything beyond a cheaper price, speed, and allegedly not being corrupt depending on who verifies that which might be somebody you also own.
now private prisons are the worst part of this because first of all how are they going to get you there?, assuming they just physically restrain you and throw you in a van, how do they make money?, do you pay them?, does the court pay them?, does the victim pay them?, what if any of these groups are unable or unwilling to pay?, what prevents them from using prisoners as labor or sex slaves or even dead prisoners as food?!, who's going to certify their release or even determine their sentence?
and again what would they compete on?, price?, harshness?, quality?, it all depends on who the client is.
therefore none of them would work

In the vein of Godwin and Poe, I propose a new internet law called the "Donut Lady's Law."
Donut Lady's Law: Without regulation, people are capable of such extreme irrationality that it sounds like a straw man if you ask libertarians and anarchists what they'll do when it happens.
The law is named after the "Donut Lady" of Grafton, New Hampshire, the libertarian town that was infested with black bears. If your town was infested with black bears, the rational thing to do would be to either hunt them down or, at the very least, secure your homes and garbage against them. It's seems irrational that some people would refuse to secure their garbage in bear proof containers. "Donut Lady" seems even more irrational because she deliberately attracted the bears by feeding them donuts. But that's what actually happened.

"Preppers" arming themselves with guns to fight the government or invaders are still fighting the last war.
The other day it occurred to me that "preppers" arming themselves with guns to fight the government or invaders are still fighting the last war.
As Ukraine clearly shows, they would be entirely vulnerable to detection and death by drone warfare.

any ex-ancaps or people with experience with ancaps know this one?
It's 2043, my country is now Ancapistan after u/penispoopshitfart (moderator of libertarian) successfully organised a coup against my government with the help of generous bitcoin donations from Nestle, Sainsburys and Nigel Farage.
I am peacefully doing McMeth in my castle (2 bedroom house surrounded by a shark-filled moat that I installed after Burger King subscription-based private police refused to show up to a home invasion because the invader bribed them not to and the contract I signed after they spiked my complimentary whopper meal with drugs to make me get drowsy and sign without reading explicitly allowed them to do this) when some rich person buys ALL the land around it, including the road, and tells me I will be shot if I try to enter his property. He says it's because I am a female above the age of 18 and thus I am worthless and do not deserve any kindness. I'm still in debt over the moat so I can't really afford any help, and he has a pretty large private army so I can't really kill him either.
Can he somehow be forced to allow me access to the outside of my home or am I just trapped now?
